(Following Interview ④) Actor Yoo Hae-jin of the movie "YADANG: The Snitch" showed a strong attachment to "Three Meals a Day" along with Cha Seung-won and Son Ho-jun.
Yoo Hae-jin conducted an interview on the morning of the 15th at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. He met with local reporters at this venue to discuss the movie "YADANG: The Snitch" (directed by Hwang Byeong-guk, provided/distributed by Plus M Entertainment, produced by HYBE Media Corp).
"YADANG: The Snitch" is a crime action film where a broker designs the drug map of South Korea, a prosecutor aiming for higher positions, and a detective who risks everything to crack down on drug crime, with each holding different objectives. In this, Yoo Hae-jin plays the ambitious prosecutor Koo Kwan-hee.
Besides his work activities, Yoo Hae-jin is familiar to audiences from the tvN entertainment series "Three Meals a Day." In particular, actors Son Ho-jun and Cha Seung-won, who appeared together in "Three Meals a Day," have a strong bond, even attending a play in Yoo Hae-jin's hometown of Cheongju last year.
Yoo Hae-jin said, ""Three Meals a Day" is always about cooking, but it has now become another one of my works rather than just a seat for me. I wonder how much more cooking there will be this time. At the start, it feels that way, but once it's done, I feel regret." He laughed.
Cha Seung-won expressed his attachment to the show by stating, "If Yoo Hae-jin doesn't participate, I don't want to do "Three Meals a Day."" In response, Yoo Hae-jin burst into laughter and said, "I think the same. It's the same meaning."
Despite their camaraderie, there was a moment in "Three Meals a Day" when Cha Seung-won was boiling spicy pepper paste stew and Yoo Hae-jin added kimchi, leading to a conflict situation. Regarding that humorous moment, Yoo Hae-jin remarked, "I didn't expect that kimchi would cause such a stir," which made everyone laugh again.
He said, "I don't have cooking skills, so when something isn't good enough, I add kimchi. I thought that was just the norm. I didn't expect to be told off like that. Whenever I go somewhere, the restaurant ladies always mention that "You did something to get scolded."" He added more laughter.
Continuing, he said, "That time, it was a real fight. "Three Meals a Day" is not a show. I was really watching my manners. I thought, "Did I really just make something that caused such a stir?" I wondered if it could hurt feelings. I felt sorry and thought, "Isn't that too much?" But, that didn't affect us. It was just a momentary thing, just a fun incident." He laughed.
"YADANG: The Snitch" will be released on the 16th.
