Catch Your Luck has energetically raised the curtain on a new concept family drama that brings laughter and emotion to the home screen.
The first episode of KBS 1TV's daily drama Catch Your Luck (written by Son Ji-hye / directed by Park Man-young and Lee Hae-woo / produced by Monster Union and Box Media), which premiered on the 14th, unfolded the tumultuous friendship saga of the three musketeers at Cheonhak High School: Han Moo-cheol (played by Son Chang-min), Kim Dae-sik (played by Sun Woo-jae-deok), and Choi Kyu-tae (played by Park Sang-myeon). The broadcast recorded a viewership rating of 13.6% (according to Nielsen Korea, based on all households nationwide), ranking first among all programs aired on the same day and showing signs of a hit from the very start.
Yesterday's broadcast opened with the young days of Moo-cheol, Dae-sik, and Kyu-tae, who vowed eternal friendship during their high school years. The rivalry between Moo-cheol and the wives of Dae-sik, Lee Mi-ja (played by Lee Ah-hyun) and Lee Hye-sook (played by Oh Young-sil), also sparked interest. At a reunion, Hye-sook exposed the frugality of Moo-cheol, Mi-ja's husband, as friends envied Mi-ja. In response, Mi-ja mentioned Hye-sook's past living in a rented room at her house, leading to a fierce exposé war.
Hye-sook was left in shock by her husband Dae-sik's words about being rejected for a loan. Feeling disheartened by their grim reality, Dae-sik and Hye-sook could not hide their shock when the new chicken shop that opened in the same building began a discount event. However, Moo-cheol maintained a brazen attitude, saying, "Can't I take in something without worrying about your opinions?" and "Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?" escalated the conflict.
At the end of the broadcast, Moo-cheol, having thoroughly provoked Dae-sik's pride, and a furious Dae-sik's 'confrontation ending' hinted at the faded friendship of the three musketeers and the unpredictably fierce narrative to come, raising viewer anticipation.
In this way, Catch Your Luck captured viewers' attention with compelling developments and absorbing performances from its first broadcast. The solid script by Son Ji-hye, the stylish direction by Park Man-young and Lee Hae-woo, and the passionate performances by middle-aged actors predicted the birth of a daily drama of a different level.
