The Boyz member Sunwoo has become embroiled in controversy over his attitude toward a security guard. The agency, oneundred, apologized for the controversy and promised to prevent a recurrence.
On the 14th, oneundred stated, "We recognize that Sunwoo's actions could raise issues of character controversy, and this controversy is entirely the company's fault. The artist is also in a state of reflection on aspects he has previously not been aware of."
Recently, a video showing Sunwoo dropping his wireless earbuds while moving, which a security guard then picked up and handed to him, spread on X (formerly Twitter) and online communities.
In the video, Sunwoo dropped his AirPods on the ground while running and yelled, "My AirPods!" instead of picking them up himself. The nearby security guard picked up the AirPods and handed them to Sunwoo with both hands, and Sunwoo received them with one hand without saying much.
This scene prompted reactions among netizens ranging from 'rude behavior' to 'malicious criticism not considering the context.'
Nana, a former member of the girl group After School, saw the video and commented, "He must be scolded," adding, "One should not judge a person based solely on a short video, but his behavior seemed very rude," which intensified the controversy.
Oneundred said, "We are saddened that the situation is developing differently from how we and the artist are reflecting on it" and added, "Based on communication with our artists, we will do our utmost to prevent such oversights from happening again."
They also added, "We are preparing strong legal action against baseless malicious comments."
