Actor Nam Yoon-soo is in an awkward situation due to a '19+ post.' He has unintentionally found himself in controversy due to a mistake in uploading on social media. Although he stated that it was not a post he directly uploaded, there remains disappointment in being mentioned in an unpleasant issue.
On the 13th, Nam Yoon-soo posted on a platform for communicating with fans, stating, 'I'm driving, what is a repost? Did I get hacked? Something strange was uploaded, and fans informed me,' along with a screenshot of his social media algorithm screen. He added, 'This is what the algorithm is, but I guess I need to check if I was hacked. I didn't even realize it was pressed.'
This was an explanation regarding the '19+ post' that was uploaded to Nam Yoon-soo's personal social media. That day, a post depicting a woman's crucial body part shaped like a balloon had been reposted on Nam Yoon-soo's social media, and it was deleted shortly after. He clarified directly to fans that the post was not uploaded by him.
A representative from Nam Yoon-soo's agency also told OSEN, 'We received reports from fans and checked the social media. Actor Nam Yoon-soo was driving, and his cellphone was in his pocket,' and added, 'He checked urgently and deleted it immediately. It seems he didn't know what had been uploaded.' This was the agency's stance on the matter, indicating that the post was uploaded while Nam Yoon-soo was driving, with his cellphone in his pocket.
Nam Yoon-soo actively sought to clarify the situation, even revealing the algorithm screen himself, and as the agency also provided explanations, it seemed that the controversy surrounding the '19+ post' was coming to a close. However, Nam Yoon-soo felt regret over having his name associated with an unnecessary issue due to this incident.
Not only Nam Yoon-soo, but earlier, actor Park Sung-hoon also faced controversy over a similar situation that affected his image. Last December, Park Sung-hoon uploaded a parody of the cover of a Japanese adult film based on 'Squid Game' to his personal social media, which he quickly deleted. At the time, his agency, BH Entertainment, explained, 'While checking due to an overwhelming amount of direct messages, it was uploaded by mistake.'
However, there were ongoing criticisms and accusations that Park Sung-hoon had images that could be problematic, not just about the social media upload itself. The following day, his agency added, 'He saved it to send to the company representative,' stating that the actor was reflecting on the matter. However, due to the backlash from the controversy, Park Sung-hoon had to withdraw from the cable channel tvN drama 'The Tyrant's Chef,' which was his next project.
At the time, Park Sung-hoon was receiving global attention due to the release of the Netflix series 'Squid Game 2,' but he could not fully enjoy the joy resulting from that due to this mistake. Nam Yoon-soo has also clarified actively that he is not related to the '19+ post,' but given that he has been mentioned in an unnecessary and negative issue, it seems that definitive follow-up actions are needed to maintain the good image he has built.
