The suspect who stole valuables from broadcaster Park Na-rae, 40, has been caught by the police.
A police official noted at a regular briefing on the morning of the 14th that "the suspect, individual A, was arrested on the 10th and is currently under detention for investigation."
Individual A is accused of stealing valuables worth millions of won from Park's home in Yongsan District on the 4th.
Individual A has also been identified as having committed theft in Yongsan District at the end of March.
Police confirmed that individual A was the same person who stole valuables from Park's home while tracking him based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) and other evidence.
Individual A committed the crime alone without any accomplices and was also found to have sold the stolen items.
The police plan to send individual A to the prosecution next week after investigating any additional crimes.
Park learned about the theft belatedly on the 8th, four days after the crime, and reported it to the police. There were initial speculations that it might have been an inside job, but a police official said, "Individual A committed the crime without knowing it was Park's house and broke in from the outside."
Park's agency, E&P Company, issued a statement on the same day saying, "We are very relieved that the suspect was arrested after the swift investigation by the authorities, and we thank them for their hard work."
