The making-of film for 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' has been unveiled.
On the 14th, the team behind the movie 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' (directed by Im Dae-hee, provided/distributed by Lotte Entertainment, produced by Big Punch Pictures Nova Film) released a making-of video.
'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' is an occult action film where a team of dark fixers, 'Holy Night,' comprised of characters with special abilities—Bau (Ma Dong-seok), Sharon (Seo Hyun), and Kim-gun (Lee Da-wit)—eliminate a group of evil that has thrown a city into chaos under the influence of a cult that worships evil.
The released video captures the remarkable synergy of director Im Dae-hee, the production team, and the cast, who came together to create a groundbreaking occult action by fiercely deliberating on how to depict demons being defeated with punches. Ma Dong-seok, who put a great deal of effort into integrating the charms of both action and occult genres, and director Im Dae-hee, who pondered on how to entwine the two genres so that audiences could accept them without significant resistance, constantly shared knowledge and imagination, solidly and freshingly merging the two genres.
The 'Holy Night' team is made up of three individuals with different special abilities who boldly pursue a single goal of eliminating evil that even the authorities cannot touch. With immense strength and powerful fists, Bau (Ma Dong-seok), a demon slayer Sharon (Seo Hyun) who can confront any demon, and the ultimate supporter Kim-gun (Lee Da-wit) each display their respective abilities and charm, boasting a strong chemistry as dark fixers. Ma Dong-seok expressed his unusual affection for the 'Holy Night' team, stating, "The chemistry we have is really good, and I truly felt like we were one team."
The close family bond of 'Jung Won' (Kyung Soo-jin) and 'Eun Seo' (Jung Ji-so), who request an unprecedented mission from the 'Holy Night' team, also captures attention with their captivating acting. After praising Kyung Soo-jin for perfectly immersing herself in the role of a "strong yet warm older sister" and delivering highly engaging emotional performances, Ma Dong-seok noted that Jung Ji-so, who handled a challenging role with admirable passion without showing any signs of struggle, will be a remarkable discovery, raising expectations for the suspenseful and explosive performances the two sisters will showcase.
The powerful demon-slaying action brought to life by the production team and Ma Dong-seok also adds significant strength to the project. Director Im Dae-hee focused on striking the right balance between the realistic and supernatural elements in the action, while action director Heo Myung-hyung utilized "powerful yet speedy movements" to create unique characteristics for Bau's intense action sequences. Ma Dong-seok added that even if it is the same boxing action, the scenes of fighting worshipers would give a different feeling, asserting, "You will be able to see refreshing action," thus expressing his confidence. Having always provided exhilarating satisfaction through distinctive action styles, Ma Dong-seok is set to showcase another unprecedented action, which will surely thrill the audience.
