(G)I-DLE lights up 'ASEA 2025'.
The 'ASIA STAR ENTERTAINER AWARDS 2025 presented by zozotown' (abbreviated as ASEA 2025), where music, stars, and fans come together, is set to take place on May 28 and 29 at K Arena Yokohama, with (G)I-DLE confirmed to grant their performance on May 29.
(G)I-DLE topped domestic and international music charts with the title track 'Super Lady' from their second studio album '2' last year. In particular, the album's track 'I hate being hurt' (Fate) sparked a reverse-charting surge, dominating the Melon TOP 100 chart's first place for an extended period, securing second place on the Melon annual chart, first place on the GENIE MUSIC annual chart, and first place in terms of the longest-charting song on the Tencent Music K-pop chart, achieving overwhelming success.
With the title track 'Klaxon' from their mini-album 7 'I SWAY', (G)I-DLE swept the global iTunes chart, including Japan, solidifying their status as a 'global music powerhouse.' Acknowledging this achievement, (G)I-DLE secured their first grand award trophy (record of the year) at the Melon Music Awards (MMA) in November last year, marking their first Daesang after over six years since their debut. Along with this award, they announced their complete re-contract with CUBE Entertainment, signaling a leap toward a broader stage and greater heights.
They continue to exude a powerful presence as performing artists. Last August, (G)I-DLE kicked off their 3rd world tour '(G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [iDOL]' at KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul, followed by sold-out shows in 14 cities across the globe including Hong Kong, Tokyo, Tacoma, Oakland, Anaheim, Houston, Rosemont, Belmont Park, Taipei, Bangkok, Macau, Melbourne, and Sydney, proving their strong global ticket power. Fans have praised them for their diverse concepts and strong performances, raising expectations for the stage they will present at 'ASEA.'
The second edition of 'ASEA' is a ceremony where top stars representing Asia gather to unite with fans worldwide through music. The first 'ASEA,' held in April last year, had Stray Kids, who won three awards including the Daesang, leading a lineup that included TOMORROW X TOGETHER, DAY6, TREASURE, SHINee's TAEMIN, and Creepy Nuts, among other top artists, exciting music fans.
This year, top-class K-POP artists who achieved significant results on the world stage in the past year and top Asian singers will participate to showcase dazzling performances. On the first day, May 28, aespa, ENHYPEN, Hearts2Hearts, KiiiKiii, NCT WISH, NEXZ, NiziU, timelesz, and Xdinary Heroes are confirmed to grant their performances (in alphabetical order). The Boyz member Juyeon and IVE member Rei will serve as hosts, while actor Jang Geun-suk will present the Daesang award.
On the second day, May 29, the lineup includes ATARASHII GAKKO!, &TEAM, BADVILLAIN, (G)I-DLE, HANA, n.SSign, SAKURAZAKA46, SKY-HI, THE BOYZ, and THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE (in alphabetical order). Actors Kim Hye-yoon, Monsta X's Hyungwon, and THE BOYZ member Younghoon have been selected as hosts, while actor Choo Young-Woo will present the prestigious Daesang award. Actor Choo Young-Woo is also confirmed to grant their appearance at the awards ceremony on the 29th.
The second round of ticket sales for the awards ceremony started on April 8, and detailed information can be found on the official website and the special page of zozotown. 'ASEA 2025' will sequentially announce the artist lineup, award sectors, and judging criteria through its official website.
