The Japanese girl group f5ve faced controversy after using a photo of the late Goo Hara for marketing.
Recently, f5ve posted a photo of a woman with the phrase 'IDGAF' (I don't give a f***) on their official account.
In the photo, there is an image of the late Goo Hara, and a coffin is superimposed in the lower left corner of the image. It is reported that f5ve has been sharing memes created by fans, but they faced criticism for using the photo of the late Goo Hara for marketing.
As the controversy erupted, f5ve deleted the post on the 10th and apologized, saying, 'Thank you to those who informed us about the unpleasant meme,' and noted, 'We did not properly recognize the context related to Ms. Goo Hara in the image.'
They added, 'We deeply apologize for this incident and thank those who pointed out the issues and explained them to us,' and stated, 'We do not take this matter lightly. It was only for fun and there was no intention to demean the deceased.'
However, despite f5ve's explanation, the criticism continues. Netizens reacted by saying, 'There is no respect for the deceased,' 'I cannot understand that it was just for fun,' and 'There is no sincerity.'
