Hong Soo-hyun played the role of "Cha Kook-hee," the president of Daesan Chemical, in the SBS drama "Buried Hearts" (written by Lee Myung-hee, directed by Jin Chang-kyu), which ended successfully with a peak viewership rating of 15.7. In particular, Hong Soo-hyun showcased the character's charm by candidly and transparently revealing her desire to succeed her father and become the chairman of Daesan, receiving positive reviews from viewers. Q. SBS's Friday-Saturday drama "Buried Hearts" has successfully come to an end. What are your thoughts on the conclusion?
I was happy to be able to film comfortably and enjoyably with everyone in a good atmosphere. It was a precious experience, and the time spent with a great team was very meaningful.
Q. You portrayed the character "Cha Kook-hee," the president of Daesan Chemical, who runs after her desires. What attracted you to choose this character?
Cha Kook-hee is an attractive character because she is complex, appearing both lonely and pure while chasing her desires. I found it interesting to express that complex side, which is why I decided to participate.
Q. What aspect did you focus on when creating the character Cha Kook-hee? Were there any difficulties?
Cha Kook-hee is very ambitious, but she also has purity within her. Balancing that was important, and I reflected on how to express those complex emotions well. Rather than difficulties, the key was to portray that aspect effectively.
Q. What is your favorite scene and why?
I remember the scene where Kook-hee gets caught by CEO Heo Il-do while trying to steal dollars. While pursuing a one-dimensional desire, she ultimately gets caught, and her inability to lie well shows the character of Cha Kook-hee effectively.
Q. How would you like the character Cha Kook-hee to be remembered by viewers?
I hope Cha Kook-hee is remembered as a character who is pursuing her desires but has sincerity inside.
Q. If you have something to say to Cha Kook-hee, what would it be?
I hope that Cha Kook-hee remains a strong and bold character who can lead Daesan if she is reborn.
