As a security guard who was following immediately rushed to pick them up and handed the AirPods to Sunwoo using both hands, Sunwoo received them with one hand, which sparked controversy over his character.
As negative reactions poured in regarding him, Sunwoo said, "Everyone talked and found the video. It really looked like I just received them without a greeting and disrespectfully. At that moment, a fan yelled something. I was bewildered, not knowing what had fallen, and then realized it was the AirPods. So while looking for them with my eyes, I received the AirPods that were handed to me." He added, "I was in a situation where I didn't bow my head and said 'thank you.' I can't clarify everything like this forever, but I also have a fault in making it seem that way. I will act well so that such unjust stories don't come out anymore."
Recently, Nana encountered the video and remarked, "Looks like he needs to be scolded," regarding Sunwoo's character controversy.
Since it's rare for an actor to comment directly on a fellow celebrity's post, Nana's comment became a topic of controversy, leading to various opinions. Particularly, Sunwoo's fans criticized Nana's comment as careless, and some fans left negative comments on Nana's social media account, drawing frowns. One of Sunwoo's fans wrote, "It's really disappointing and thoughtless to judge a person based on just a few seconds of fragmentary video and to post such a comment as a public figure. Aren't you a senior in the entertainment industry? Please don't casually comment, knowing how painful such incidents can be for someone like you," to which Nana replied with, "You can tell a lot from one thing."
Amidst the situation where Sunwoo's fans were inundating Nana's social media with negative comments, Nana shared her thoughts for the first time on the 13th on a communication platform with fans, saying, "It seems like we're talking about my comment, but I was also surprised to see negative comments and requests for an apology on my Instagram." She continued, "I didn't intentionally write a comment for it to be reported in the articles, but now it seems like something has blown up, and I'm a bit concerned."
She added, "It's not right to judge a person just by a short video, but I didn't define or judge him as a person; his behavior seemed very disrespectful to me and was quite shocking. So based on that action and word, I thought that behavior was wrong. That's why I just expressed my feeling that he needs to be scolded."
In particular, Nana remarked, "I expressed it loudly so that everyone could hear, saying 'my AirPods' while looking at the dropped AirPods. He didn't move even one step while having his gaze fixed just a few steps away. Who did he mean by asking to pick them up? Is he unable to move? Is it because of the difference in age that he has a security guard? Shouldn't he be capable of using his own hands and feet? Was he expecting the item he dropped to come to him on its own?" She shared that she believes her junior's behavior was inappropriate.
Nana further stated, "I didn't see the video like that. But I could have been mistaken. Anyone could become misunderstood in certain situations. So I watched the video again and again and again. I don't know who he is, but if such a person were next to me, I would have spoken just as I am now. 'He needs to be scolded?' Additionally, I would ask, 'Where did you learn such behavior?'" pointing out that Sunwoo's actions were wrong.
