Actor Jin Tae-hyun expressed his honest feelings about favoritism for celebrities.
On the 11th, Jin Tae-hyun posted a lengthy message on his social media, stating, "It has been exactly 2 years since I started marathon running seriously. I have been working hard to create something from nothing. Now, I have added a remarkable record of 3 hours and 19 minutes to my standards."
Jin Tae-hyun noted, "I was outside for several days due to local filming and a family trip, and an enormous amount of packages had piled up in front of my house. The officials from the Gunsan Saemangeum Marathon sent me unexpected gifts and a touching letter."
He further emphasized, "My wife and I do not participate in competitions for free just because we are celebrities, unless we are officially invited for a specific reason. Like other marathoners, we compete through the application process. From the application to the end of the competition day, we fully enjoy the whole experience. I already applied and paid for the Daegu Marathon that we filmed 'Same Bed, Different Dreams' on."
He also shared, "Everyone preparing for the competition struggles tremendously. Regardless of whether the operation goes well or poorly, the manpower and effort involved are indescribable. It feels really shameful to just step onto the track of such hard work."
In particular, Jin Tae-hyun revealed, "Sometimes, there are many instances of receiving favoritism because I'm a celebrity. However, if those things become too normal, we forget about the humility that should come with being a person." He lowered his head, saying, "I consider the letter from the Gunsan Sports Council a support for my wife and me on our way."
Finally, he added, "I will answer the question in the letter asking if we will come again next year. If there are no filming commitments that day, we will apply directly again and stand beautifully at that starting line. Thank you."
