Comedian Lee Guk-joo shared her dieting status.
On the 10th, a video titled "Eating like this and losing weight?/ Diet tips for high-degree obesity/ If you want to nag, don't watch" was uploaded to Lee Guk-joo's YouTube channel.
On that day, Lee Guk-joo explained, "This video is to help high-degree obesity become ordinary obesity. So if you are aiming to go from 55 to 44, from 66 to 55, or from 77 to 66, this does not help you. However, it can be very helpful for those who are more than high-degree obesity, and I hope you enjoy it. Until the day high-degree becomes ordinary, let's keep fighting and aim to become ordinary obesity together."
Later, she revealed her dieting meal plan by saying, "It's a diet plan that loses 3 kg in just one week." Lee Guk-joo stated, "The meal I've been eating for the past two years is cabbage mixed with chicken breast. Most people would probably eat just one pack, right? But we high-degree people eat two packs and don't gain weight because there's something we've been eating. Honestly, it's much better to eat two packs of cabbage rolls than to eat poorly and then feel hungry for rice or pizza."
Lee Guk-joo said, "My current goal is to lose an additional 7 kg by March. I have lost 3 kg so far, but it doesn't show much, so I'm wondering if I can successfully lose 7 kg by March." She started to do some tarot readings and noted, "It's not a success yet, but I'm running toward that goal with a knife. I might not be able to lose 7 kg, but I think I could lose 5 kg or 6 kg." However, she candidly revealed through subtitles, "Currently in an editing stage, I'm at a 4 kg loss. Yeah, it doesn't show!"
She then questioned, "Can I lose 15 kg in about three months?" after doing a reading and was pleased with the result, which suggested she could lose weight steadily. Lee Guk-joo explained, "When we reach our weight range, just changing one thing in our lifestyle can help us lose about 15 kg. The real challenge comes next. I lost 17 kg when I played tennis. I put on weight because I broke my wrist and couldn't exercise anymore. I used to play five times a week, running for two hours each time. It was natural to gain weight once I stopped. So, we need to be careful with exercise; we can't overdo it if it's not a lifelong commit."
Then she mentioned, "If I lose 15 kg, will I get a boyfriend? Let's see" and drew a card but sighed at an unfavorable outcome. She expressed, "Then what if I lose 18 kg? It can happen, but it's not guaranteed. It's more of a chance to meet someone rather than a surefire thing." She then asked, "What if I don't lose weight?" and drew another card, stating, "If I don't lose weight, it's a completion card. What's that.. I won't do it," humorously declaring the halt to her dieting.
The next day, Lee Guk-joo ate a cold salad made with spring vegetable, konjac, mixed grains, chicken breast, soy sauce, and egg rice. She shared, "What I do with my diet is I intentionally eat more. If I'm not full but the food is finished, I get annoyed. I wish I could have just one more bite. When I eat something like this and it's a bit left over and I'm full, I feel great. I'm happy thinking that I've left some food behind and that I'm controlling myself; I don't eat more. Dieting should definitely not be stressful. To go from 49 kg to 45 kg means stress. Those people eat one cherry tomato and that's it. But if we do that, we will die."
She continued, "Ten years ago, a doctor told me, 'Guk-joo, you have enough nutrition in your body to survive without eating for two months.' If we get trapped now, I'll live the longest. I recently went to the hospital, and they said not eating is the best. But if I don't eat, I'll die from stress. This is how we operate," adding, "How could I not lose weight if I'm eating two bowls instead of three? How can I not lose weight if I switch from white rice to brown rice? How can I not lose weight if I'm eating pork but switching to chicken breast?" She highlighted, while also self-deprecating in subtitles, asking, "So why aren't you losing weight?" which drew laughter.
On another day, Lee Guk-joo said, "I will coat the pork neck with marinade for pork ribs and eat it as a wrap." She remarked, "Slim people probably won't understand this, but we high-degree people know that just eating meat can help us lose weight. A doctor said that there was no obesity in the Paleolithic era. There was no grain, just meat. No matter how much grain you eat, you won't gain weight. Ideally, eating chicken breast and pork loin would be good, but that would be hard to maintain long-term."
Lee Guk-joo encouraged, "What high-degree people need to understand is that if they try to lose weight aggressively by completely cutting carbohydrates, nothing will come off and they will gain more. I looked into this. It was so frustrating. I tried to cut all carbs to diet, eating only vegetables and chicken breast for 2 or 3 weeks. I thought I should definitely lose about 7 kg. But nothing came off. I was so frustrated that I ate ramen that night, and after that, the weight started to come off. I guess my body was shocked that what used to be going in wasn't anymore. So, I end up holding onto everything. My body keeps the protein and doesn't let it go. But once some carbohydrates come in, it all comes off. High-degree people, let's not shock our bodies. Let's lose weight moderately by coaxing them gently."
She added, "Currently, by the editing standards, I have lost about 5 kg. I truly aim to transition from high-degree to ordinary. Starting now, I will try to lose about 7 kg in the next month. I hope all of our KUKBOs accomplish their yearly goals."
