JYP Entertainment's boy group NEXZ is aiming for their first comeback in 2025 with passion and energy that surpasses boiling point.
NEXZ (Tomoya, Yuu, Haru, Sogen, Seita, Huey, Yuuki) will release their second mini album 'O-RLY?' on April 28. JYP Entertainment has released a concise teasing timetable that lists only the content formats including images and videos, and on the 9th, they surprised fans by surprising them with the full version of the 'Simmer' music video after releasing the teaser.
Ahead of the official release of their new album 'O-RLY?', NEXZ raised the atmosphere by pre-releasing the tracks and on the afternoon of the 11th, they posted a video called 'NEXZ 'We Keep Simmering…'' on their official social media channel, depicting the story behind the 'Simmer' music video, further increasing the excitement for their comeback.
During a peaceful evening, the seven members gathered at a restaurant featured in the music video to enjoy a meal. As they picked up a dim sum and lifted the steamer, a phone call from the sender 'Simmer' started ringing on the phone beneath. The members, startled, were surrounded by phones ringing with white smoke, and the phones displayed a warning message as if they exceeded a proper temperature. The thermometer in the members' mouths also kept rising, drawing attention as it soared well past 100°C.
'Simmer' is a culinary term meaning to cook slowly at a temperature just below the boiling point, and the new song utilizing this concept is a hip-hop track that metaphorically expresses the increasingly rising tension under taut circumstances. The visually striking music video, featuring excellent performance synergy and witty direction, is receiving favorable reviews from K-pop fans, with comments like "This is it, this comeback feels great," "Can't get 'Simmer simmer' out of my head," and "They said they perform well and they really do," as the views approach 1 million on YouTube.
NEXZ's new work 'O-RLY?', which they are unveiling after about five months, includes the title track of the same name, along with 'Simmer', 'Want More? One More!', 'Run With Me', 'Slo-mo', and the track 'Z Side_250226 (CD Only)' that can only be heard in the physical album, which will be available on various online music sites at 6 p.m. on the 28th (Monday).
