Singer Park Bo-ram is being mourned on the first anniversary of her death.
Park Bo-ram died on April 11, 2024. She was 30 years old.
Park Bo-ram was found collapsed in a bathroom after drinking about a bottle of soju with two female friends. After she did not return from the bathroom, a friend who found her reported it, and no evidence of criminal activity or signs of suicide were found at the scene.
At the time, police obtained the consent of the family to request an autopsy from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation to determine the specific cause of death. The final autopsy report, released 43 days later, indicated that Park Bo-ram had poor health due to liver disease and fatty liver at the time of her death, and no other presumed causes of death were identified apart from acute alcohol poisoning.

In the confusion prior to the confirmation of her cause of death, false news proliferated by cyber wreckers on YouTube. In response, singer Kim Geum-rim, who was close to the deceased and a participant in the Mnet 'Superstar K2' program, pointed out on social media, "Is there no way to deal with YouTubers who create fake news with sensational titles and thumbnails using AI voices? They are really despicable people who exploit others for profit. There are even false rumors that I am under police investigation. Watching the links sent by friends, I really feel my blood boil. Just enough already. They will be punished by heaven." Meanwhile, Park Bo-ram gained fame through the Mnet audition program 'Superstar K2' in 2010. She officially debuted in 2014 with the single 'She's Beautiful' and received great love through the OST 'Hyehwa-dong' for the popular tvN drama 'Reply 1988.' Last year, on her 10th anniversary of debut, she was known to be preparing for a comeback with a full album and released a duet song 'I Love You' with singer Heo Gak in February of last year, further deepening the sorrow.
