It has been one year since singer Park Bo-ram passed away.
April 11, 2025, marks the first anniversary of Park Bo-ram's death. The deceased passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 30.
Park Bo-ram was found collapsed in the bathroom at a friend's house in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, while drinking alcohol with friends. She was later transported to the hospital but died at 11:15 p.m. on the same day.
To determine the specific cause of death, the police obtained consent from the family to request an autopsy from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation. The final autopsy report, released 43 days after her death, indicated that Park Bo-ram's health was poor due to medical conditions such as liver disease and fatty liver at the time of her passing, and no other suspected causes of death aside from acute alcohol intoxication were found.
At that time, Park Bo-ram reportedly shared a bottle of soju with two female friends. A friend, noticing it was unusual that Park Bo-ram did not return after saying she was going to the bathroom, discovered her and called for help, finding no evidence of criminal activity or circumstances that would suggest a drastic choice.
In particular, the news of Park Bo-ram's passing was especially tragic as it came just before her 10th anniversary debut. Alongside her death, her unfortunate family background came to light again. Park Bo-ram had lost her parents to illness at a young age. As a result, her older brother and younger brother were present to keep vigil.
Many colleagues from the entertainment industry attended the deceased's final farewell. Those who formed connections through 'Superstar K2,' including Heo Gak, Kang Seung-yoon, Roy Kim, and Park Jae-jeong, as well as Giant Pink, Heo Young-ji, and Ko Eun-ah, were present at the funeral. Notably, Kang Seung-yoon, Roy Kim, and Park Jae-jeong participated in carrying the casket, adding to the solemnity.
After the funeral service, Kang Seung-yoon said, "I have so many regrets about not being able to do more. I will do better when we meet again later. Please be happy in the meantime," while Heo Young-ji left a message saying, "I miss you so much, I'm sorry, and I love you." Roy Kim said, "It wasn't until I let you go that the sun appeared. It seems you went well. Please do not suffer there. Please do not exert yourself there. Keep that smile full of gratitude that you had when you were the happiest."
After the passing of the deceased, false news related to the death circulated. In response, the agency stated, "Park Bo-ram has suffered from malicious comments due to unverified facts since her debut, and the ongoing dissemination of such fake news now is a clear criminal act equivalent to killing the deceased a second time. The parties involved, the family, and acquaintances are suffering from enormous psychological shock and pain. If such actions continue, we will take strong civil and criminal measures, and we will pursue legal action rigorously after the funeral procedures. There will be no leniency or settlement in this process," indicating a strong legal response.
The late Park Bo-ram gained recognition by appearing on Mnet's 'Superstar K2' and officially debuted in 2014 with 'You've Become Pretty.' Following her passing, an album commemorating Park Bo-ram's 10th anniversary was released at the request of her family and colleagues.
