Actor Lee Hae-in revealed that despite having over 1 million subscribers, there is no revenue generated.
After debuting as a CF model in 2005, Lee appeared in dramas such as 'Hit,' 'Men's Manual,' 'Golden Fish,' 'Five Fingers,' 'Vampire Idol,' 'Era of Sensation: The Birth of a God,' and 'Witch's Castle.' She particularly attracted attention for her pure and mysterious visuals, being called 'Roller Coaster Flower Deer Woman' in the variety show 'Roller Coaster.' In 2012, she also debuted as a singer with the girl group Gang Kids.
However, Lee Hae-in continued her activities, even changing her stage name to 'Easy.' Yet, after appearing in the drama 'To You Who Forgot Poetry,' 'Love Professional Season 2,' and the movie 'Gangsters' in 2018, she has not been very active. In response, she opened a YouTube channel and launched a personal channel with a sexy concept, becoming a major YouTuber with 1.41 million subscribers amid explosive interest.
However, Lee Hae-in does not have the 'Gold Button' that certifies '1 million subscribers.' The reason was due to the sexy concept. Her appearances, such as playing the piano in only underwear and a bikini, were seen as provocative, resulting in sanctions from YouTube. Consequently, Lee previously mentioned on a variety show that she has 1 million subscribers but does not generate revenue, stating that her income is '0 won.'
Recently, Lee Hae-in, who met with OSEN, noted that her revenue from YouTube is still '0 won.' She said, "After appearing in 'Sisters on the Move' and 'Couple Palace,' my situation hasn't changed significantly. I've consistently played the piano and created content. And since sketch comedy is booming, I added a pinch of sexiness to it and did it for about a year, which worked out well. I aimed to become number one with sexy sketch comedy, but I have paused that for now. It has also faced some restrictions from YouTube, somewhat sapping my motivation, like my piano content did."
What was the reason for consistently uploading content despite having no revenue? Lee stated, "People think that since I have over 1 million subscribers, I must be making a lot of money, but there's no revenue. Yet, if you ask why I continue, it's because it's fun and exciting to create something. I thought that by showcasing this content, I could demonstrate my presence, which is why I kept going."
However, with the continued sanctions, she inevitably lost motivation. Lee mentioned, "There is no revenue, but when fun activities I am passionate about get penalized, it drains my energy. There are aspects that are hard to fully understand, so I thought I should reflect on that, and I took a break for about three months. During that time, I went traveling, feeling the need to refresh myself, and recently returned from a trip to Myanmar."
