Strong Yu-seok expressed his thoughts on joining 'Resident Playbook.'
On the 10th, a production presentation for tvN's 'Resident Playbook' took place at the Ramada Seoul Sindorim located in Guro District, Seoul. The event was attended by Go Youn-jung, Shin Si A, Strong Yu-seok, Han Ye-ji, Jeong Jun-won, creator Shin Won-ho, and director Lee Min-soo.
tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'Resident Playbook' (creator Shin Won-ho, Lee Woo-jung / directed by Lee Min-soo / written by Kim Song-hee / planned by CJ ENM Studios / produced by Egg Is Coming) is a spin-off drama from 'Hospital Playlist' that showcases the growth of residents dreaming of a fruitful medical life as they navigate through their formative years.
On this day, Strong Yu-seok, who plays the resident 'Eom Jae-il' from an idol background, recalled the casting behind the scenes, saying, "I think anyone would have felt the same way, but I was genuinely so happy that I wanted to scream. After the audition, I overheard some news, and since I was outside, I quietly squealed, but in my heart, I was screaming. I remember roaring when I got home."
He added, "I grew up watching 'Reply' and the medical life series, and I thought a lot about wanting to participate in such works. It was a director I definitely wanted to work with, and I was overwhelmed with joy when I heard I was confirmed after the audition."
Notably, Strong Yu-seok, who left an impression as 'Yang Eun-myung' in the recent Netflix series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' said, "I filmed Eun-myung first, and then it was 'Resident Playbook.' So I didn't think it was a big deal who opened first. I enjoyed filming with my friends so much that I feel sad about it ending; it was such a fun project, and just the thought that it will be released the day after tomorrow makes me thankful and happy."
"I think this time it will also provide good energy as it's a bright story about Jae. However, I might express a different side of 'Why is he acting like this?' compared to Eun-myung," he said, bringing laughter.
