Actress Lee Hae-in revealed the reason for her return to a short hairstyle reminiscent of her debut.
After debuting as a CF model in 2005, Lee appeared in dramas such as "Hit," "Men's User Manual," "Golden Fish," "Five Fingers," "Vampire Idol," "The Age of Feeling: The Birth of a Legend," and "The Witch's Castle," and she particularly garnered attention for her pure and mysterious visuals as the "Roller Coaster Flower Deer" in the entertainment program "Roller Coaster." In 2012, she also debuted as a singer with the girl group Gang Kiz.
Although Lee Hae-in continued her activities while changing her stage name to "Easy," she has not been very active since appearing in the dramas "To You Who Forgot Poetry," "Love Is for Professionals Season 2," and the film "The Gangsters" in 2018. Therefore, Lee opened a YouTube channel and started a personal channel with a sexy concept, and now she has become a large YouTuber with 1.41 million subscribers, drawing explosive interest.
Even though Lee Hae-in has continued her activities by consistently releasing content, she faced challenges as revenue was not generated and she encountered ongoing restrictions from YouTube. In response, she sought advice from Hong Jun-hwa, the representative of her former agency and her "life mentor," and received an answer.
Lee Hae-in recently discussed Hong Jun-hwa, with whom she has rejoined forces, stating, "He is like a life mentor to me. Beyond work, when I face any challenges or when I think about something alone and can't find an answer, I ask him. He offers easy explanations for the parts I found difficult, and I follow his guidance a lot," adding, "This time, when I was struggling because of the obstacles with YouTube, I wondered what to do, and he advised me to take a break and recommended traveling."
Taking Hong Jun-hwa's advice, Lee decided to travel, choosing Myanmar as her destination. Without knowing that a civil war was ongoing in Myanmar, Lee impulsively bought a ticket. She recounted, "I didn't know Myanmar was in a state of civil war, so I just booked a ticket and went. It's been a while since I returned, but as everyone heard I was going, they told me it might be dangerous. However, I like adventures, and I'm not someone who lets such things prevent me from doing what I want, so I traveled with faith in destiny."
Through the journey, Lee Hae-in took time to reflect on herself. Upon returning to Korea, she immediately cut her long hair. Making her comeback with a short hairstyle after a long time, Lee returned as the familiar "Korea's Hiroshi Ryo-ko" and "Roller Coaster Flower Deer." She explained, "I unconsciously had an obsession with long hair. I think I got bored since I had been active with short hair for a long time. I felt pressure to maintain long hair, and while contemplating in Myanmar, I wondered, 'Why am I obsessing over this?' Although I knew that the image the public wanted of me was already defined and that it suited me best, it seemed like a strange self that did not want to see that. So I decided to cut it when I returned to Korea and transformed into a short hairstyle."
Meanwhile, Lee Hae-in visited Myanmar before the earthquake occurred. On the 28th of last month, a strong earthquake hit central Myanmar, destroying thousands of buildings in Naypyidaw and the second city, Mandalay, and many people were buried under the rubble. According to the Associated Press on the 8th, the military regime reported that the death toll from the earthquake has increased to 3,600. The number of injured and missing individuals stands at 5,017 and 160, respectively.
Lee conveyed through social media her concerns regarding the earthquake-affected Myanmar, saying, "I recently visited Myanmar, and something very sad has happened. It's reported that many are suffering due to the earthquake. It breaks my heart thinking about those who are currently struggling in temperatures around 40 degrees. I sincerely hope for a swift recovery and that no further victims will arise."
