The AI corporations Galaxy Corporation successfully transmitted the music and voice of its artist G-Dragon into space in collaboration with KAIST. This project is expected to go beyond a simple musical attempt to forever preserve human culture in space and accelerate the innovation of AI corporations trying to communicate with other civilizations.
The project titled 'G-Dragon Space Music Transmission Project,' held on the 9th at the KAIST Satellite Center, was linked to the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) SETI project, adding to its uniqueness. The SETI project previously transmitted the music of The Beatles into space, and G-Dragon was recorded as the first artist in Korea's SETI project.
On site, with the theme of 'emotional signals that extend the inner universe of humans to the external universe,' G-Dragon's iris image and the music 'Home Sweet Home' were combined with AI and transmitted to the 13M space antenna. Shortly after the performance at around 8:27 p.m., G-Dragon transmitted the greeting, "Hello, this is G-Dragon" (about 100 Kbps) and, two minutes later, the track 'Home Sweet Home' (about 3 Mbps) into space, while the Satellite Research Institute noted that this track would be transmitted once daily in the future.
G-Dragon expressed his feelings about sending his music into space, saying, "I'm very excited at the anticipation that it might reach somewhere," and added, "The transmitted 'Home Sweet Home' is special because it is a song I did with the members of Big Bang, so it feels like I'm sending my home under the name of the group, Big Bang. Thanks to feasible technology, I'm honored to send my most cherished song into space."
Choi Yong-ho, Chief Happiness Officer of Galaxy Corporation, noted, "G-Dragon's voice and music have begun a journey toward space. This project possesses significant meaning, going beyond simple music transmission to convey humanity's dreams and imagination to the universe. It will remain a pioneering step in introducing human culture to space and a monumental performance that opens a new chapter in music history."
Meanwhile, Galaxy Corporation has been building a collaborative relationship with KAIST since last year, leading the future AI corporations industry through the fusion of entertainment and technology. Recently, it held a private meeting with Microsoft (MS) CEO Satya Nadella as the only entertainment technology company, where Nadella praised it as a 'pioneer of imagination.'
