Singer-songwriter Kwon Jin-ah heightens expectations for her comeback by releasing a pre-release track ahead of her third studio album.
Kwon Jin-ah will pre-release the song "Love & Hate" and its music video, both included in her third studio album "The Dreamest," today at 6 p.m.
"Love & Hate" is a poignant pop ballad that expresses ambivalent feelings in a hot and intense love, showcased through Kwon Jin-ah's uniquely appealing vocals. The story begins with the paradoxical confession, "I hope you hurt. Much more than I do," and concludes with a twist, stating, "I feel the most pain when you're in pain."
Starting with lyrical guitar sounds, this song builds up instrumentally, with Kwon Jin-ah's vocals at the center of the narrative. Her charming and passionate voice transforms the conflicting emotions of "love and hate" into a powerful image of love.
The music video, which will be released alongside, features Kim Do-yeon from the groups Weki Meki and I.O.I, as well as model Hong Tae-jun, delicately portraying the complex emotions of lovers oscillating between love and hate. Directed by Lee In-hoon of "Sae Gaji Video," it is expected to enhance dramatic immersion with its stylish mise-en-scène and intense scenes, such as a kiss in the rain.
Kwon Jin-ah will make her comeback with her studio album "The Dreamest" on the 25th, nearly six years later. This first album with her new agency, Another, signals a new leap forward. The album title "The Dreamest," meaning the superlative of "dream," embodies Kwon Jin-ah's unwavering passion and ambition for music.
This album includes a total of 10 tracks, including the pre-release song "Love & Hate," as well as double title songs "Reunion" and "Let Me Go." Kwon Jin-ah participated in the lyrics, composition, and arrangement of all the tracks, adding delicate completion to the overall album.
To commemorate the release of her third studio album, Kwon Jin-ah will hold a solo concert on May 10 and 11 at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul. During this performance, live stages of the new album's tracks will be unveiled for the first time, and Kwon Jin-ah will reprove her presence as a "performance artist" based on her deepened musicality and exceptional stage dominance.
