Singer Hwanhee surprised fans with a recent update following his appearance on 'King of Singers 2.'
Hwanhee appeared on SBS's 'Live Today' segment with entertainment reporter Kang Kyung-yun on the afternoon of the 8th.
During the interview, Hwanhee shared various stories, including updates since 'King of Singers 2,' his feelings about taking on the trot genre, and his future activity plans.
First, Hwanhee, who has received love across generations for his challenge in the trot genre, expressed his honest feelings, saying, "At first, I thought trot was a difficult genre that I could not perform. I was worried that people would feel awkward. However, I was motivated to take on the challenge by my mother's words that there were no songs among my own that people could sing along to."
Hwanhee has indeed built a fanbase across various age groups through 'King of Singers 2.' He noted, "I feel the increase in the age demographic. It's refreshing to be recognized and liked by older people," and added, "I wanted to show that, like actors who do not always play the same role, I can attempt another genre rather than just transforming into a trot singer."
Lastly, he revealed surprising activity plans. Hwanhee said, "I am currently working on my music. I think I will be able to share it in the latter half of this year," and continued, "I will strive to present good music and appearances. I want to continue creating songs that can provide strength to many people."
Recently, Hwanhee made a strong impression with his solid vocal abilities and excellent stage manners while showcasing his natural talent, achieving an impressive final ranking of 8th on 'King of Singers 2.' He succeeded in proving his broad spectrum by gaining new nicknames like 'trot macho man' and 'trot prince.'
