'New Recruit' announced the return of legendary military content.
On the 7th, the Genie TV original drama 'New Recruit' (directed by Min Jin-ki and Jo Je-wook, written by Yoon Ki-young and Kang Go-eun, based on the original work by Jang Pi-jjoo, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by A2Z Entertainment and Story Island) captivated viewers once again in just two episodes. 'New Recruit' demonstrated perfect synergy with already matured character play. Kim Min-ho returned as the somewhat more grown-up yet still bumbling Park Min-seok, bringing smiles to viewers. Additionally, Kim Dong-jun, Oh Dae-hwan, and Kim Yo-han's performances as distinctive new faces heightened anticipation for the upcoming story.
On this day, Park Min-seok appeared slightly shedding his former aura of incompetence, showing the look of a private adjusted to military life. As Park Min-seok grew, new winds blew through the Mythical Unit. The FM company commander Oh Seung-yoon left, and the newly appointed company commander Jo Baek-ho (played by Oh Dae-hwan) made his entrance. With a strong impression and a robust physique, during the first roll call when everyone felt he was not to be trifled with, the unexpected words from his mouth were, 'Loyalty! I love you.' This was accompanied by a shirtless display of enthusiasm, even announcing that additional leave would be granted for making abs, which drew cheers from the Mythical Unit members.
News arrived that a new recruit was coming into the Mythical Unit, which is filled with love and peace. The squad members, including Park Min-seok, began planning a new recruit game. This time, Park Min-seok was in the lead role. However, upon opening the dormitory door, everyone could only cover their mouths in shock at the face that appeared. It was the nation's actor Jeon Je-gye (played by Kim Dong-jun). But the festive atmosphere was momentarily stolen by an unusual new recruit who entered the 1st dormitory, causing a stir. For some reason, Moon Bit-na-ri (played by Kim Yo-han), whose visual recalled Park Min-seok's new recruit days, exuded an aura of incompetence from the start.
In order to deceive the new recruit as planned, 'Private Choi Il-gu' was mercilessly ridiculed by 'Corporal Park Min-seok,' who was performing method acting. However, Park Min-seok's excessive immersion eventually caused Choi Il-gu to explode. Amid the sudden chase between Park Min-seok and Choi Il-gu, Moon Bit-na-ri inadvertently made the mistake of delivering an uppercut to Choi Il-gu. Thus, the new recruit game in the 1st dormitory ended in chaos.
With everyone's attention on Jeon Je-gye, who was making a splash from the first day, and with the entrance of a wildly different new recruit, the Mythical Unit was turned upside down by yet another unexpected face. It was Seong Yoon-mo (played by Kim Hyun-kyu), who was ordered to return to the 1st dormitory after being found not guilty due to insufficient evidence. Kim Sang-hoon (played by Lee Chung-gu), who had gone to military jail because of Seong Yoon-mo, went straight to Jo Baek-ho, but all he received in return was 'I'm sorry I couldn't stop it.' Unable to stand it any longer, Choi Il-gu ultimately declared Seong Yoon-mo 'disqualified from the sequence.'
However, the returned Seong Yoon-mo lived in a way that was completely different from before, appearing subdued. In front of Park Min-seok, he expressed, 'I am sorry. I have reflected a lot,' and even shed tears in apology, while also subtly offering help whenever Moon Bit-na-ri found herself in difficulty. For Moon Bit-na-ri, who was unaware of Seong Yoon-mo's past, he was nothing but a ray of hope during the tough life of a private. Realizing Moon Bit-na-ri's behavior of not adhering to the 'disqualified from the sequence,' Park Min-seok called him aside and warned him. At that moment, Seong Yoon-mo appeared and confronted Park Min-seok, defending Moon Bit-na-ri and saying, 'Maybe you should stop.' Viewers are left wondering whether Private Park Min-seok will successfully navigate the heightened difficulties of military life with the suddenly appearing new recruits, and what secrets Seong Yoon-mo is hiding.
