The group Weave has returned with a bold attitude, armed with a magenta color.
Weave held a showcase on the afternoon of the 9th at the Seongam Art Hall in Gangnam, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their fourth single album 'BANG OUT' and shared stories about the new album.
Weave, announcing their comeback seven months after the release of their third single album 'Rush of Joy' in September last year, plans to emit a different charm by transforming into game players with different potentials in a virtual world.
The members, making their first comeback after one year, said, "Now that we have passed the one-year mark and have become a two-year artist, we often communicated about the albums while working on the three previous albums. We thought a lot about what image Weave should reflect to create our own color, and we prepared the album in a fun way."
When asked about their 7-month hiatus, they added, "Weave worked hard on activities during the past 7 months, discussing the next concept and the regular album, so we prepared diligently enough not to feel like it was a hiatus. We had a lot of monitoring sessions among the members because we wanted to improve our live performances."
Weave's new album 'BANG OUT' depicts the story of Weave, who is more confident than anyone in music. It incorporates the worries and growth of Weave, who constantly has to prove themselves at every moment, as well as their determination to break through their limitations and move forward proudly.
Jayder noted, "I think every activity had to prove us, and we thought a lot about what kind of image the public would like and how we should approach them. As we shared these concerns with the members while preparing the album, we thought that if we approached our activities confidently, our sincerity would resonate, and we prepared the album with that in mind." He added, "Since this is our fourth activity, each member has developed a different sense of ease. It was fulfilling."
In particular, Weave, who has showcased various charms with different key colors for each album, announced that the key color for this album is magenta, predicting the intense energy that Weave will deliver.
Regarding this, the members said, "We return with a key color for each album, and this time we have come back with the color magenta. We plan to show our own intense energy and performance. Since magenta is a highly saturated color, this color reflects our ambition to be more vividly and clearly imprinted on the public."
The title track 'BANG OUT' is a hip-hop song featuring a powerful heavy metal-type guitar riff combined with dubstep sounds, showcasing a different dimension of charisma from what Weave has shown so far. The heavy yet refreshing sound that breaks through the frustration, alongside the powerful melody and impressive lyrics that add excitement, stand out.
Jinbeom explained about the new song, "It is a song with impressive lyrics that add excitement. The meaning is that we have more confidence than anyone when we are on stage. I believe it is a song that can gift confidence to those who have anxieties about the future."
When asked what Weave's unique strength among the fifth generation is, Ha Seung-eun replied, "With this album, I want to earn the title of a recording treasure trove. Since the new song has strong beats, we tried to understand how to perform it. You can see a lot of the members' vocal skills in our recorded songs, so I think we can showcase Weave's vocal growth with this batch of songs."
Finally, the members expressed their goals for this activity, saying, "We want to earn the title of 'fifth-generation cheat key.' Just like a cheat key that leads to victory in a game, we want this activity to be one that leads to victory. Also, we hope that people will imprint Weave's unique color as the term 'Whipsnal Color' arises."
They added, "While preparing the album, we talked a lot about wanting to achieve first place on the music show this time. We really want to make it happen."
