The couple, Lee Hyori and Lee Sang-soon, showcased their bickering couple chemistry.
On the 8th, Lee Hyori appeared as a guest on MBC Radio's 'Perfect Day with Lee Sang-soon' (hereinafter referred to as 'Perfect Day'). From the opening, Lee Sang-soon expressed his affection for Lee Hyori by saying, "I passed by Bulgwangcheon, and the cherry blossoms were so beautiful. I wasn't alone on my way to work, so it wasn't lonely." He introduced, "This week on Perfect Day, superstar Lee Hyori has come."
Earlier, in January, Lee Hyori showcased her wit as a guest. She said, "Why do you only use me during the audience ratings survey? Do you just call me carelessly because it's the survey period?" Lee Sang-soon acknowledged, "That's true," yet asked, "Since it's the survey period, please promote the radio. I'll do one, you do one. I will promote whatever Lee Hyori does." To this, Lee Hyori replied, "I will decline. Just support me," provoking laughter.
Furthermore, when Lee Sang-soon asked, "How have you been these days?" Lee Hyori replied, "I cook, clean. It's fun. I've also been given another program, called 'Just Makeup,' where I'm currently active as an MC to determine the best makeup artist out of 60." She continued, "I have a lot of interest in beauty. And I've received much help from artists over the past 25 years. You could say they are the ones who saved me. If I can help with this program, I decided to participate with that mindset." She then shared, "I was originally asked to be a judge, but I'm not an expert. I'm not perfect, which is a burden. So, I proposed to take on another role, and that's how I became the MC."
Lee Sang-soon asked, "Aren't you busy recording these days?" To which Lee Hyori replied, "It's every two weeks. It's nice even if it's just every two weeks. Normally, I'm just going back and forth, since there's nowhere to unfold my dreams and hopes." This brought laughter. Lee Sang-soon then remarked, "I lived that way for 11 years." Lee Hyori emphasized, "I'm satisfied. (Housewife duties) But there's surprisingly fun in it. There's a sense of accomplishment, and it's more enjoyable than I expected."
The couple's 'bickering' chemistry continued. When a listener sent a message saying, "It seems like you two have matching music tastes," Lee Hyori responded, "There are songs that fit well, and many that don't. I listen to the ones that don't separately." Lee Sang-soon replied, "However, if we recommend songs that we like surprisingly, we appreciate them," but Lee Hyori quipped, "If you recommended a song, I can't just say it's bad, can I?" which evoked laughter.
Lee Sang-soon then recounted, "What surprised me was that I went to a bossa nova, Brazilian music performance not long ago. I found that I could hum along to all the music." Lee Hyori interjected, "I didn't even know who it was and just went along, but I recognized all the songs. Sang-soon plays it so much. I usually don't play it much."
While looking through the recommended songs from listeners, Lee Hyori picked Yoo Young-jin's 'Your Scent.' Upon seeing this, Lee Sang-soon asked, "Is there a story related to this song?" Lee Hyori evasively replied, "I can't tell you because I'm with another man. I'll share it during a private chat," but Lee Sang-soon insisted, "Just say it officially here." Lee Hyori then said, "No, it's a different person. Let's just listen first," trying to divert attention, but Lee Sang-soon continued to inquire, "Is it the smell of that person?" leading to bursts of laughter.
Another listener, who was listening to the broadcast, asked, "Are you two fighting in a playful way?" Lee Hyori replied, "This isn't even a fight. It's daily life." Especially, after wrapping up a special corner called 'Radio Drama,' based on one listener's story of struggling with a younger suitor who doesn't provide reassurance, Lee Hyori asked Lee Sang-soon, "Have you ever dated someone younger?" but then realized, "Ah, I'm younger, right?" causing more laughter.
In response, Lee Sang-soon said, "I've dated every person I met," to which Lee Hyori teased, "You were a talented person, huh?" Lee Sang-soon reminisced, "Usually, I date younger people. I have dated someone the same age too, but I've never dated an older person." Lee Hyori then relentlessly asked, "How many people have you dated? How many were there?" prompting even more laughter.
Particularly, in response to a listener's story that said, "I was non-marriage-minded, but seeing you two changes my mind," Lee Hyori stated, "Honestly, I think that's okay (non-marriage-minded). If I go back to before marriage, I would probably just date. I want to get married around 60." She continued, "Dating without marriage can keep the excitement alive and maintain tension. Because these days, you're too relaxed. You fart. It's just too much. Really." She revealed, "So, I ordered juice. In the past, I would have thought, 'Oh, what is that!' but now I'm worried about my stomach," eliciting laughter.
