Former girl group Momoland member Nancy will appear in the film 'Pig Village,' highlighting actor Ma Dong-seok's global project.
According to OSEN's coverage on the afternoon of the 8th, Nancy has recently been cast in the new film 'Pig Village' and is preparing for her participation. This work marks the official beginning of her activities as an actress and her first debut on screen.
'Pig Village,' which is planned, conceptualized, produced, and starred in by Ma Dong-seok, is an action thriller film that tells the story of the main character Hammer, a former professional boxer, who embarks on a mission to seize a money bag linked to a crime organization. All planning and production are taking place in South Korea, and the dialogue is composed 100% in English. It is a work aimed at the global market and release, and its English title is 'Pig Village.'
'Pig Village' is expected to be an important work for Nancy as it marks her screen debut and signifies her transition to acting. Although she briefly showcased her acting skills in a web music drama in 2017, it was not in a regular drama.
Since her debut, Nancy has boasted impressive English skills, as her father is an American and a career soldier, which allowed her to live in the United States and the United Kingdom during her childhood. It is anticipated to see what she will showcase in 'Pig Village,' which features only English dialogue, based on her outstanding language abilities.
Nancy debuted as the youngest member of Momoland in November 2016, gaining great popularity with her doll-like appearance and many hits such as 'Bboom Bboom,' 'BAAM,' and 'Thumbs Up.' However, in January 2023, the former member ended her exclusive contract with the agency, effectively ending the team's activities after seven years and leading to the team's de facto disbandment. Currently, after Momoland's disbandment, she signed an exclusive contract with ATOC in September last year and is pursuing solo activities.
Meanwhile, 'Pig Village' is directed by Lee Sang-yong, who achieved twin 10 million admissions with 'The Outlaws' seasons 2 and 3, with Big Punch Pictures and Nova Film jointly producing, while Plus M Entertainment handles investment and distribution.
