The production team of 'Kian's Bizarre B&B' revealed the behind-the-scenes story of recruiting BTS member Jin.
On the 8th, the production presentation for Netflix's 'Kian's Bizarre B&B' Part 1 'Early Check-in' took place at the Community House Masil in Jung-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Producers Jung Hyo-min, Lee So-min, and Hwang Yoon-seo.
'Kian's Bizarre B&B,' set to be released on April 8 (Tuesday), is an extraordinary lodging variety show where Kian84, Jin, and Ji Ye-eun engage with guests at the Kianjang on Ulleungdo, full of romantic ambiance. While there are no set expectations, the show is anticipated to bring unpredictable laughter and fun to viewers with unexpected enjoyment.
On that day, Producer Jung Hyo-min shared the behind-the-scenes story of recruiting staff Jin and Ji Ye-eun alongside Kian84. Jung noted, "Depending on the combination, the feeling changes. I thought it was important to have staff who could support Kian, and I wanted a combination that showed a color we hadn't seen from him before, while also ensuring those individuals wouldn't be overshadowed or constrained by Kian, each with their own distinct colors."
Jung said, "First of all, Ji Ye-eun was recommended by Kian, and I liked that she represents the MZ generation. As for Jin, it's not just because he's from BTS; he's a globally famous idol, which is beneficial for us. However, I feel that Jin's genuine charm hasn't come across even 'one-tenth' in entertainment. I thought it would be great to draw out the real side of Jin here."
Additionally, Jung explained, "Actually, when we were recruiting at the time, Jin had not yet served his military duty. Many proposals must have been made, but fortunately, he adjusted his prior schedule to join us at Ulleungdo for nearly ten days after watching Kian on the show and thinking he was from a different realm." He added, "I hadn't told Ji Ye-eun and Kian that Jin was recruited. I wanted to capture the moment they first meet on the boat and how the three of them become familiar with each other on camera."
Furthermore, Producer Hwang Yoon-seo mentioned, "(After recruiting) we put effort into confidentiality. We figured out the boat layout to avoid them meeting, as if we were filming a spy movie. At first, Jin was very much a superstar, making interactions awkward, but as time went on, since people typically get closer through hardship, I believe it shows the rapid process of them becoming friends."
