Kian's Bizarre B&B Director Jung Hyo-min shared the behind-the-scenes story of the 'Kian's Bizarre B&B' space design.
On the 8th, a production presentation for Netflix's 'Kian's Bizarre B&B' Part 1 'Early Check-in' took place at the Community House Masil in Jung-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Directors Jung Hyo-min, Lee So-min, and Hwang Yoon-seo.
Set to be released on April 8 (Tuesday), 'Kian's Bizarre B&B' is a unique variety show where Kian84, Jin, and Ji Ye-eun engage with guests in unexpected ways at the romantic Kian's Bizarre B&B on Ulleungdo Island. While nothing was imagined, it is expected to offer viewers unpredictable laughter and enjoyment with experiences they could not have anticipated.
In particular, 'Kian's Bizarre B&B' is built as a five-star hotel sketched by Kian84, generating high expectations. Regarding this, Director Jung Hyo-min noted, "First of all, it took a long time to receive the sketch. It was a lengthy process before we got it," which elicited laughter.
Director Jung recalled, "The filming date was set, and there was a day scheduled for construction, so the day to receive the sketch was determined. During that time, we also provided references, but bringing the design was entirely up to Kian. When we asked to see it midway, he said, 'I haven't drawn it yet.' Then, a day came when we needed to proceed with production after seeing the drawing Kian created. I went early to ask to see it, and he said he hadn't drawn it yet."
He continued, "I thought, 'What should I do? Was it right to work with this person?' and quietly waited, but then he said, 'Just give me a little time,' went into the room, and began to draw right there. But still, wasn't I worried? I was anxious if we had to postpone the schedule, and then the time came. When Kian showed me the completed picture, that moment, I could concretely envision the program's concept."
He added, "Instead, this drawing became a top-secret document for us. Building according to the plans was our concept, so we had to keep it as hidden as possible. In particular, the timing of receiving sketches from Kian was when Jin and Ji Ye-eun were already being cast. I thought, 'I have to make sure these two don't see it until the end.'" which brought more laughter.
