Rapper Noel conveyed his first thoughts after completing the funeral of his father, the late former lawmaker Jang Je-won.
On the 7th, Noel posted on his social media, "I have served my father with great care for three days. On the day of the funeral, the weather was particularly clear and warm, and I still don't know whether to feel happy or heartbroken, as the emotion of sadness seems not to resonate with me yet."
He said, "Perhaps because I am dumbfounded, or perhaps due to the sorrow of not being able to share a meal with my father soon as it is his birthday, or guilt toward my father when he was present at significant crossroads in life, feeling like a stumbling block, or perhaps because I have not been able to show him my pure and happy smile after deciding to live properly again, my heart is quite complicated and delicate."
He added, "It seems like he was conveying a message to me to stay focused and live with good virtue for the sake of my mother," and said, "Only after laying my father to rest was I finally able to face his bright smile in the portrait, and send him off with a faint smile, if not brightly."
Noel expressed his gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank the many friends who stayed by my side for three days, crying more than I did, and the local residents who embraced my gentle mother while saying to take good care of her. Lastly, I thank my maternal relatives who cared meticulously for me as the inexperienced bereaved. Thanks to them, I think I can now cherish my father's image with a kind smile in the portrait rather than the cold expression I faced at the burial."
Finally, he said, "It was a time filled with fear, despair, depression, and grief. However, looking back, I have made many mistakes in my life, and I deeply reflect on them. I believe this will be an opportunity to become a responsible person who knows how to give and take care of precious individuals, as well as to live more firmly as a head of the family and as an adult. I will live more fiercely in the future."
Earlier, the late former lawmaker Jang Je-won was found dead in an officetel in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, at 11:40 p.m. on the 31st of last month. The mortuary was set up at Haeundae Paik Hospital, and his only son, Jang Yong-jun, along with his mother, received the guests as the bereaved.
