Singer Jang Yoon-jung and broadcaster Do Kyung-wan's eldest son, Yeon-woo, demonstrated advanced English skills.
On the 6th, ENA's entertainment program 'My Kid's Private Life' featured the father-son duo transformed into daily Korean language teachers for a Korean language academy in Vietnam.
Yeon-woo, who recently filmed an emotional drama with his younger sister Ha-young at the market last week, was busy getting ready that morning. He urged his father Do Kyung-wan and younger sister Ha-young, saying, "What are you doing? Today is an important day. We can't be late." Yeon-woo checked his appearance while wearing a cute striped shirt and neat jeans.
Ha-young wore a cute school outfit. Yeon-woo, who was concerned about his hairstyle, helped tie his younger sister's hair. However, the hands of a 10-year-old were not very able, and Ha-young sighed at her brother's skills. Seeing this, Do Kyung-wan stepped in and completed Ha-young's round pigtails. Do Kyung-wan proudly said in a somewhat boastful tone, "Dad's skills are quite good."
Do Kyung-wan, paying attention to Yeon-woo's appearance, headed to a truck street barber shop, a Vietnamese specialty. He seated Yeon-woo and said, "Vietnam is famous for trimming men's hair on the street. There's no need to pay a lot of money to go to a barbershop in Cheongdam-dong." Yeon-woo felt nervous. His mother, Jang Yoon-jung, noticed and said, "You seem nervous." Yeon-woo was more anxious about being late for class than about his changing hairstyle due to the approaching time.
Soon, Yeon-woo said, "Dad, this is my first haircut abroad, right?" as he nervously regarded his changing hairstyle. The sleek hairstyle resembled that of Park Bo-gum. Upon seeing the caption, Jang Yoon-jung repeatedly apologized, saying, "I'm sorry, Mr. Park Bo-gum. I'm so sorry, Mr. Park Bo-gum." Eventually, the hairstyle was completed. The father and son looked like two peas in a pod. Ha-young burst out laughing, saying, "I got confused between you and Dad. You both look exactly like twins!" Do Kyung-wan then excitedly said, "Getting a haircut definitely feels refreshing. I am the best-looking man in Vietnam. And you, Ha-young, are so cute," as he headed off joyfully on a cyclo. However, only Yeon-woo was nervously anxious about being late for class.
The family headed to a Korean language academy in Vietnam. Yeon-woo worried, saying, "It's a K-promise, so we can't be late," but they arrived right on time, which made his worries seem unfounded. Do Kyung-wan conducted a lesson using consonants and vowels, as expected of a former announcer. Since there were Vietnamese people with advanced Korean skills at the Korean language academy, which allows locals to learn Korean, Do Kyung-wan was able to teach the lesson in Korean.
Yeon-woo and Ha-young felt a bit nervous as their turn for the class was approaching. Yeon-woo said, "I'll write down today's schedule," and wrote smoothly in English. Lee Hyun-i expressed surprise, saying, "Did Yeon-woo really write all that?" Jang Yoon-jung added, "Yeon-woo prepared this from home," which amazed Lee Hyun-i again.
Soon after, students appeared. They were kids who were at least one year older than Yeon-woo. Do Yeon-woo exclaimed, "I thought the students would be around Ha-young's age, but I was surprised to see older brothers and sisters than I expected," unable to hide his confusion. However, contrary to his surprise, Yeon-woo soon began the class in English. Yeon-woo, well-prepared, started his session with flair. He greeted the students in fluent English, saying, "We have come to teach Korean today. We are Ha-young & Yeon-woo," then pulled out a paper with 'Where is it?' and 'Please' written on it, saying, "These are very important words."
Yeon-woo explained, "This is an important word when traveling in Korea. It's 'please.' You say 'Please reduce the price' or 'Please give me a side dish' when asking for something." He continued, "'Where is it?' is also important. It's a word you can use to ask about the bathroom, market, or location," preparing a very practical lesson that can be utilized in real life. Ha-young, who was assisting next to Yeon-woo, also participated by showcasing 'K-makeup' using cosmetic toys. Lee Hyun-i repeatedly praised their sense and English skills, saying, "This is really amazing."
