In 'Way Back Love', Gong Myoung and Kim Min-ha blossom with excitement.
The production team of the TVING original series 'Way Back Love' (produced by CJ ENM and Studio Mondo, supplied by TVING) has captured the clumsy and cute first love moments of Ramwoo (played by Gong Myoung) and Heewan (played by Kim Min-ha), heightening curiosity ahead of its premiere today (3rd).
'Way Back Love' is a youth fantasy romance about Heewan, who has turned her back on the world and let her youth slip away, as her first love Ramwoo appears before her as a grim reaper. Based on the beloved novel of the same name by author Seo Eun-chae, the story, filled with excitement, depicts a sparkling week intertwining the exciting past and the changed present. It gained significant attention even before its official release after being invited to the 'On Screen' section of the Busan International Film Festival last year, featuring a star-studded cast including Gong Myoung, Kim Min-ha, Jeong Geon-joo, Oh Woo-ri, Ko Chang-seok, and Seo Young-hee.
The school days of Ramwoo and Heewan revealed ahead of the release of episodes 1 and 2 on this day provoke laughter. Heewan begins to care about Ramwoo due to an April Fool's prank. In a surprising scene, Heewan is caught preparing to confess her feelings to Ramwoo. She runs to the playground, her hair fluttering in the wind. However, Ramwoo's hand resting on Jisoo's (played by Jeong Ra-el) shoulder hints at an unexpected chaotic situation. In the subsequent images, the sight of Heewan fainting on the playground and shocked Ramwoo adds curiosity to the unusual first love story of the two.
In the episodes 1 and 2 of 'Way Back Love' being released today (3rd), the tale of Ramwoo and Heewan entangled in an April Fool's prank of changing names will unfold. The previously released highlight video features Heewan after changing names, showcasing a life of 'high prices' that captivates curiosity. After six years, Ramwoo, now a grim reaper, visits Heewan with the message that she will die in 'one week.' The contrast between the thrilling past and the dreamlike present will reveal the fateful relationship between Ramwoo and Heewan. Attention is focused on the unpredictable events that will fill the two's week.
The original author of 'Way Back Love,' Seo Eun-chae, noted that she is most looking forward to the school days story in the drama. "As a viewer, I am eagerly waiting. I am grateful to the director and staff for creating a fantastic piece, and to the actors for their passionate performances," she expressed. She added, "Unlike the original which focuses on the present, the drama expresses the school days of Ramwoo and Heewan in a diverse and warm manner. As lovely as that is, it also contrasts with Heewan's current life, making it even more poignant. I hope readers who enjoyed the original and viewers looking forward to the drama will expect the allure of the drama 'Way Back Love' as an independent work and warmly watch over it." Episodes 1 and 2 will be released on TVING today at 12 p.m.
