Actor Bill Murray (74) is facing backlash from netizens after forcibly kissing actress Naomi Watts (56) during a live interview.
The two recently appeared on 'Watch What Happens Live' to promote their new film 'The Friend (The Friend).'
During the show's Q&A session, a viewer called in to ask Watts to recommend her favorite on-screen kissing scene. Before she could respond, Murray lunged at Watts, grabbed her face, and planted kisses on her lips. After the impulsive move, Murray gave a thumbs up to the camera.
Afterward, Watts told Murray, "You have lipstick on your face," and asked, "Did my face turn red?" Murray smiled at the camera and said, "The answer is too easy."
Although Watts acted with composure, netizens collectively labeled it as public sexual harassment. Viewers expressed comments such as, "Disgusting," "She's so pathetic for having to pretend she's okay afterward," "He just humiliated her on live TV," "Her face had the grip of death... poor Naomi," and "I want to throw up."
Watts eventually got the chance to answer the question only after the situation calmed down, saying her favorite kiss was with her husband, Billy Crudup.
The two previously collaborated in the 2014 film 'St. Vincent.'
