Since its launch in 1995, Mnet has been ahead of the times and trends, introducing new content.
Mnet announced that it will air "Mnet 30th Legendary Variety Rewatch" from April 3 to May 15 to celebrate its 30th anniversary. This special broadcast will feature carefully selected memorable scenes and legendary episodes from bold and innovative variety programs that represented Mnet from the early 2000s to the 2010s.
Viewers can revisit programs that made a fresh impact in the entertainment industry, such as "Off the Record, Hyori," "Seo In-young's KAIST," "Awkward Blind Date," "Pure Jae-yong's 19," "God of Music," "Unpretty Rapstar," "High School Rapper," and "Queendom." It is expected to provide nostalgia and memories for those who remember that time, while offering fresh enjoyment for a new generation.
First, today's (3rd) premiere will kick off with "Off the Record, Hyori," which generated great buzz during its airing in 2008. This reality program, closely documenting superstar Lee Hyori's honest and free lifestyle, received immense love from fans for its rare "real documentary" format in the entertainment industry at the time. Following that, on April 10, "Seo In-young's KAIST," which depicts singer Seo In-young's adaptation to the prestigious KAIST, will air; on April 17, "Awkward Blind Date," considered a pioneer of dating reality programs, and "Pure Jae-yong's 19," which boldly tackled various entertainment industry issues in a chart format, will be featured; and on April 24, viewers will meet "God of Music," which showcased Lee Sang-min's unique variety sense.
In addition, in May, Mnet's representative survival programs will make their appearances. On May 1, "Unpretty Rapstar," which infused new life into the hip-hop scene with fierce rap battles among female rappers, will air; on May 8, "High School Rapper," which produced talented newcomers through intense competition among teenage rappers, will be featured; and finally, on May 15, viewers will be able to enjoy the comeback battle of the top female idols in South Korea with "Queendom."
"Mnet 30th Legendary Variety Rewatch" will be broadcast every Thursday at 9:20 p.m. from April 3 to May 15 on Mnet.
