Actress Kim Mi-sook expressed her thoughts on transforming into a kindergarten director in the 1980s 'CF Queen.'
On the 1st, Kim Mi-sook appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel 'Song Seung-hwan's Wonderful Life.'
Kim Mi-sook dominated the domestic advertising industry in the 1980s alongside Kim Hye-ja and Go Du-shim. In response, Song Seung-hwan asked, "Since you made so much money, didn't you send your children to America?" to which Kim Mi-sook laughed and affirmed, "I did make a lot of money."
In particular, he noted about the advertising profits, "I operated a kindergarten with that money," which drew astonishment. Kim Mi-sook explained, "I bought a little land and saved a lot, but my younger sister was a kindergarten teacher. She would come home, edit the children's photos, and make teaching materials while giggling alone. I asked her, 'Is that really that fun?' and she replied, 'We would love to do something like this too.' So I discussed it with my father, and we tried it as a family business."
Kim Mi-sook continued, "I did it without any regrets. I was so happy," reminiscing, "It was a bit embarrassing, but on the day of the enrollment application, the fathers showed up with blankets to cover themselves and lined up in front of the kindergarten. I was really surprised. It wasn't that my kindergarten had that much prestige. I think they trusted it because it was run by an actress."
"I still feel fulfilled and wherever I go, I am called 'Director.' It was truly a happy time," Kim Mi-sook expressed with emotion, adding that to her former students, "It has been about 22 years since we closed the doors. Even now, when I meet parents on the street, they say, 'Our daughter is a graduate of class X,' and 'Director, which class was I from?" expressing her heartfelt feelings.
She said, "I believe that you learned well at our kindergarten and will become wonderful adults, integral members of South Korea. I am very grateful that you have grown up healthy." She added, "I feel an immense responsibility. Just as you have loved me, as long as we are connected, I will always pray for you in my heart, and I will do my best for you."
