Hwang Min-ho received solid recognition from Kim Yeon-ja.
On the 2nd, KBS2TV's entertainment program 'The Return of Superman' (hereafter 'Superman Returns') depicted a day in the lives of brothers Hwang Min-ho and Hwang Min-woo. First, the younger brother Hwang Min-ho woke up. At 11 years old and in the 6th grade, Hwang Min-ho was a model child who went to bed at 9 p.m. and jumped out of bed at 5 a.m.
Hwang Min-ho said, "I didn't even set an alarm, but I strangely woke up at 5. I go to bed at 9 p.m. because I need to grow tall." Afterward, he teased his older brother Hwang Min-woo, saying, "Wake up. See the light of this world."
Next, Hwang Min-ho's efforts to grow taller were depicted. The first floor had a living room with exercise equipment and a kitchen, while the second floor had a clothing room, and the third floor had the rooms of Hwang Min-ho and Hwang Min-woo. Hwang Min-woo commented, "I am not that tall either, so I want to tell Min-ho various ways to grow tall," showing a caring older brother's attitude toward his younger sibling.
Furthermore, Hwang Min-woo was the older brother who raised Hwang Min-ho. Hwang Min-woo expressed his affection, saying, "Younger brother Min-ho, I even changed his diapers and fed him. He's like my son."
The brothers had the characteristic of being a 'multicultural family.' Hwang Min-woo recalled comments such as, "I was happy and surprised when Min-ho said he wanted to be a singer, but didn't I experience this myself?" He added, "There were comments like, 'Why are you acting up when you're not even Korean? Get lost to your mother's country.'"
Hwang Min-woo noted, "Back then, there were times I thought that as a multicultural family, I shouldn't be in the entertainment industry. I often regretted choosing such a profession. My mom must have cried a lot inside; she and I both endured it." He became teary-eyed. The mother then said, "Korean moms say it's good to talk a lot to children before they sleep, but I didn't do that much," and added, "Min-woo has comforted me since he was little by saying, 'Mom, don't read the comments.'"
Hwang Min-woo and Hwang Min-ho visited their mentor Kim Yeon-ja. Hwang Min-woo expressed gratitude, saying, "Teacher Kim Yeon-ja bought clothes for Min-ho right after he was born, as well as toys and shoes. She even had outfits tailored for us. She has done so much for us."
Kim Yeon-ja praised Hwang Min-ho's performance, saying, "When I saw this, I thought Min-ho seemed possessed when he played the jangu. Don't you think so too?" She recalled the past when Hwang Min-ho signed a contract and said, "I wondered why I did that. But the representative said that Hwang Min-ho would become a monster." However, Kim Yeon-ja added, "You truly are growing differently every day. A person cannot grow that rapidly. You are completely a monster!" She continued to praise Hwang Min-ho and shed tears of joy regarding their development.
Kim Yeon-ja even gave them pocket money, showing affection beyond that of a mentor.
