"One Day, a Wise Resident Life" is raising expectations for a seemingly different worldview from "Hospital Playlist."
"Hospital Playlist" series' first spin-off, the new tvN Saturday-Sunday drama "One Day, a Wise Resident Life" (creator Shin Won-ho, writer Lee Woo-jung / director Lee Min-soo / script Kim Song-hee / planning CJ ENM Studios / production Egg Is Coming, hereafter referred to as "One Day, Wise Resident") is a new story of people unfolding in a fresh setting, promising familiar yet unique enjoyment. "One Day, a Wise Resident Life" depicts the stories of social newcomers who have taken their first steps in society, not professors who have completed a single growth as working adults. It portrays the journey of first-year obstetrics and gynecology residents at Jongno Yulje Hospital - Oh Yi-young (played by Go Youn-jung), Pyo Nam-kyung (played by Shin Si A), Eom Jae-il (played by Kang Yoo-seok), and Kim Sa-bi (played by Han Ye-ji) as they grow into adults amid various challenges.
These characters, who are far from the skills of the professors in the "Hospital Playlist" series, begin to grow amid unpredictable everyday life while receiving both scolding and praise. The struggles of residents feeling lost in everything from tasks they find incredibly difficult to relationships with all sorts of people they meet for the first time evoke the university student period one experiences at least once in life, promising a different empathy and emotion from the "Hospital Playlist" series.
# Story 2. Expanding the worldview to Jongno Yulje Hospital! Another story of the people at Yulje Hospital.
"One Day, a Wise Resident Life" moves to Jongno Yulje Hospital, different from the main Yulje Hospital in the "Hospital Playlist" series, creating a broader worldview. While rooted in the same Yulje Hospital, the story branches out in various directions, offering a new kind of enjoyment distinct from the existing series.
In particular, focusing on the obstetrics and gynecology department, it addresses the stories of not only doctors and nurses but also mothers, patients, and guardians, forming a wide range of empathy. It raises curiosity about what kind of stories the people gathered at Jongno Yulje Hospital might have.
Moreover, since they share a common root in Yulje Hospital, links to characters from the existing "Hospital Playlist" series will also be revealed one by one, adding interest. Thus, attention is focused on what is happening in another space, Jongno Yulje Hospital, rather than the main Yulje Hospital.
