Kim Yeon-ja from 'The Return of Superman' reflected on the past when she did not recognize Hwang Min-ho.
In the KBS2TV entertainment show 'The Return of Superman' (hereafter referred to as 'Superman'), which aired on the 2nd, siblings Hwang Min-ho and Hwang Min-woo appeared. Hwang Min-ho's resonant voice filled the stage. Hwang Min-ho introduced himself by saying, "I am the emotion giant Hwang Min-ho from 6th grade, class 1." Choi Ji-woo remarked, "How does he sing trot so well at such a young age?" and Ahn Young-mi expressed admiration, saying, "Isn't it impressive that a 6th grader speaks so well?"
The Man from Nowhere said, "I have a daughter. Try being a son-in-law," and had everyone laughing at his playful suggestion regarding Hwang Min-ho.
Following this, Hwang Min-ho's daily life was unveiled. He got up at 5 a.m. Hwang Min-ho said, "I didn't even set an alarm, but strangely, I woke up at 5. I go to bed at 9 p.m. because I have to grow taller," and he smiled brightly.
Also, his older brother and singer, Hwang Min-woo, appeared. Hwang Min-woo said, "Hwang Min-ho was amazing. At first, he didn't show much talent, but he started to mimic me and even went on audition programs," expressing his feelings for his younger brother. Five years ago, 8-year-old Hwang Min-ho showcased his talent in an audition program he attended with his brother. Now, Hwang Min-ho has become a singer who surpasses his brother. However, Hwang Min-woo felt no jealousy. He stated, "My younger brother Min-ho is like my son; I even changed his diapers and fed him."
For this reason, Hwang Min-woo even managed Hwang Min-ho's comments. Hwang Min-woo cautiously opened up, saying, "I was happy and surprised when Min-ho said he wanted to become a singer, but I had already experienced this myself."
He shared, "There were comments like, 'Why do you act like you're not Korean? Go back to your mother's country.' At the time, I felt that as a multicultural family, we shouldn't be in entertainment due to the comments. There were many moments I regretted choosing this career. I think my mom cried a lot inside; it felt like she and I both endured together," while his eyes glistened with tears.
The Man from Nowhere responded, "That's probably why I cried," empathizing with Hwang Min-woo's tears.
The mother mentioned, "Korean mothers say that talking to kids before they sleep is good, but I rarely did that," and added, "Min-woo comforted me, saying, 'Mom, don't read the comments' since he was little," conveying the heartfelt bond between mother and son.
Kim Yeon-ja applauded after watching Hwang Min-ho's performance. She expressed, "When I saw this, I thought Min-ho seemed possessed when he played the janggu. Don't you think so too?"
Furthermore, Kim Yeon-ja recounted, "When it came to signing a contract with Hwang Min-ho, I questioned why I did it. But the representative told me that Hwang Min-ho would become a monster." She shared that she had conveyed this to the agency representative, who had once been her boyfriend. Amazed by the siblings, Kim Yeon-ja stated, "You really grow differently day by day. It's not possible for someone to grow at such a rapid pace. You're completely a monster."
