The world's first deaf idol group Big Ocean's Hyun Jin has changed their stage name to PJ.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, Big Ocean posted EP.02 of their original content "OCEANVIEW" on the team's official YouTube channel, announcing the change of Hyun Jin's stage name.
In this video, titled "The 1st Big Ocean Name Change General Assembly," Hyun Jin announced, "It is a very important day to announce a new name," revealing that their stage name has changed to PJ.
Regarding the reason for adopting the new name PJ, Hyun Jin explained, "I was thinking about how to approach this, and since the Waves (fandom name) are widely distributed around the world, I thought that an English name might be used more globally than a Korean name. So I chose PJ from my name 'P, H, J' (Park Hyun Jin) by dropping the H."
Hyun Jin added, "Starting from the activities for the second mini album 'UNDERWATER', I will be working under the new name PJ. I hope to receive a lot of support under the name PJ when we go on a European tour."
Meanwhile, Big Ocean will release their second mini album 'UNDERWATER' at 6 p.m. on the 20th (Korean time) and will conduct their first European tour, starting from Lausanne, Switzerland on the 19th-20th, then Milan, Italy on the 23rd, London, England on the 24th, Paris, France on the 26th, and Montpellier, France on the 27th.
