The Japanese remake of 'The Terror Live,' starring actor Ha Jung-woo, is set to meet domestic audiences.
On the 3rd, the film 'The Terror Live: Last Show' (written and directed by Watanabe Kazutaka, provided/distributed by Lotte Entertainment, produced by the 'Showtime Seven' production committee, abbreviated as 'Last Show') announced its plan for a Korean release on the 16th, unveiling still cuts of different characters in the newsroom.
'The Terror Live: Last Show' is the Japanese remake of the thriller film 'The Terror Live,' directed by Kim Byung-woo and starring Ha Jung-woo, which surpassed 5.58 million viewers in 2013. It depicts a live broadcast with a bomb terrorist that begins with a phone call received on a radio program at 7 p.m.
The protagonist of the film is Orimoto (Abe Hiroshi), the only negotiator targeted by the terrorist. He is a former popular caster of the national news program 'Showtime 7.' A still cut from the newsroom reveals the tense situation, where the terrorist threatens that the bombs will be detonated if even one person goes outside.
The photo shows Orimoto, a sidelined news caster trying to use the terrorist's threat as an opportunity for a news comeback, alongside Director General Shoji (Yoshida Kotaro), who is solely obsessed with ratings and buzz, 'Showtime 7' anchor Yuki (Nukumi Meru) caught in the terror, the current main caster of 'Showtime 7' Asaka (Ryusei Ryo), who harbors resentment toward Orimoto, and reporter Ito (Igawa Haruka), who is chasing the truth of the incident, as well as the mysterious silhouette entering the studio. Various interests are clashing both inside and outside the newsroom, revealing a thrilling and urgent situation.
As the true hidden intentions of the terrorist unfold, further delving into a labyrinth of mystery about why it had to be 'Showtime 7' and Orimoto, expectations are rising for Abe Hiroshi's performance, showcasing an entertainer's temperament while skillfully conducting real-time public voting during a gripping live broadcast with the terrorist. Simultaneously, the struggles of 'Showtime 7' staff and hostages in a life-and-death situation depending on the truth or falsehood inside the studio allow for a more vivid feeling of the live setting.
Can the hostages in the newsroom all survive? The outcome of the live broadcast with the bomb terrorist hinges solely on the proceedings of Orimoto, the person identified by the perpetrator. 'The Terror Live: Last Show' will be released exclusively at Lotte Cinema on the 16th, Wednesday.
