Actor Kim Soo-hyun's side has filed an additional complaint against the Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon). The Gaseyeon has rebutted again that while the videos and chat messages released during the late Kim Sae-ron's minor years are accurate, they were not in a relationship.
Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, and its legal representatives stated on April 2, “Gold Medalist and actor Kim Soo-hyun formally filed an additional complaint against Kim Se-eui, the operator of the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (hereinafter ‘Gaseyeon’), on charges of violating the stalking punishment law on April 1, 2025.”
They explained, "Since Gaseyeon began broadcasting on March 10, 2025, with the title '[Shock Exclusive] Kim Soo-hyun leads to Kim Sae-ron's death (6 years of dating since Kim Sae-ron was 15),' it has aired daily broadcasts about actor Kim Soo-hyun, except for one day until March 31, 2025, while spreading false information about actor Kim Soo-hyun. Furthermore, Gaseyeon indiscriminately disseminated photos and videos of actor Kim Soo-hyun's face and body, as well as private letters and messages on its YouTube channel, and only a thorough investigation and punishment will stop Gaseyeon's 'cyber wrecking' behavior."
They emphasized, "Moreover, Gold Medalist has refuted all the false claims that Gaseyeon has persistently made (that actor Kim Soo-hyun dated the late Kim Sae-ron since their minor years), but Gaseyeon continues to spread falsehoods based on manipulated evidence and photographs. Thus, Gold Medalist will gather and rebut the various pieces of evidence Gaseyeon provided, clearly stating that the claim of actor Kim Soo-hyun dating the late Kim Sae-ron from their minor years is absolutely not true." They added, "Gold Medalist will inform that it plans to respond strictly to Gaseyeon's criminal acts of spreading false information in the future."
Along with this, Kim Soo-hyun's side publicly disclosed materials refuting the claims regarding the photos and videos distributed by Gaseyeon.
According to Kim Soo-hyun's side, all the photos released by Gaseyeon were taken when Kim Sae-ron was 20 years old, being not a minor. However, regarding a video showing Kim Sae-ron making braised spicy chicken for Kim Soo-hyun at home, they acknowledged, "It was filmed in June 2018," while asserting, "The location was the APT. in Seong-su-dong, where Kim Soo-hyun lives with his family. Kim Sae-ron came to visit during Kim Soo-hyun's vacation, and Kim Soo-hyun's family was also present. At that time, the two were not in a romantic relationship."
Regarding the chat messages exchanged between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron during his military leave, they acknowledged, “The chats between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron are correct,” but clarified, “I took leave for two weeks in April 2018 and we communicated through chat, but we did not meet. At that time, we were not in a romantic relationship, and we started dating after the summer of 2019.” In the chat messages, Kim Sae-ron expresses disappointment that she hasn’t been able to contact Kim Soo-hyun, and Kim Soo-hyun responds with, “I was wrong.”
Meanwhile, the court assigned to the damage compensation lawsuit filed by Kim Soo-hyun against the family of the late Kim Sae-ron and the YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute' was determined on the 1st. According to the legal community, the Seoul Central District Court has assigned the damage compensation claim filed by Kim Soo-hyun to Division 14 of the Civil Settlement under Director General Jeong Ha-jung. Kim Soo-hyun's side disclosed that they filed a lawsuit for damages amounting to 12 billion won during a press conference held last month, but the amount filed in court was 11 billion won.
