'Dear M' has released a highlight video featuring youth reminiscent of spring sunshine.
KBS Joy's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Dear M' (written by Lee Seul, directed by Park Jin-woo and Seo Ju-wan) is set to premiere on April 14 and has unveiled a 4-minute highlight video, predicting a warm wave of youthful romance.
The highlight video showcases an exciting mystery surrounding the protagonist of an anonymous post, a refreshing campus romance that triggers vicarious excitement, and vibrant stories of realistic youth, all intertwined with emotional visual beauty, captivating viewers.
The video begins with an anonymous confession letter that caught the keen interest of SEOYON University students. In the boys' dormitory, Gil Mok-jin (Lee Jin-hyuk) causes a commotion by saying, "Who among those who attended our class today wrote the confession letter?" Meanwhile, in the girls' dormitory, Ma Joo-ah (Park Hye-soo) is seen excitedly exclaiming, "It's a confession! Sister! A confession!" capturing the youthful emotions perfectly and resonating with viewers.
Around the campus, rumors and speculation swirl around the identity of the author of the confession letter. Some speculate, "If it's emotional, it's more likely from the humanities rather than the sciences!" and others wonder, "Didn't they enter through essay admission?" New hypotheses arise, suggesting that the protagonist might have developed feelings for a friend or have a crush on a friend's partner, increasing curiosity around the confession letter.
Furthermore, the video vividly captures the allure of each character. In particular, the sweet two-shot of Seo Ji-min (Noh Jung-ui) and Park Ha-neul (Bae Hyun-sung) stands out. Seo Ji-min, exhibiting idol-level visuals as the cheerleading center, and the 'pure youth' Park Ha-neul gazing at her with affectionate eyes create a watercolor-like atmosphere, reminiscent of a romantic comic.
A subtle current flows between long-time friends Cha Min-ho (Jung Jae-hyun) and Ma Joo-ah. As Ma Joo-ah expresses her exhilarating feelings toward her crush, saying, "This is my first time liking someone," Cha Min-ho's expression momentarily stiffens. He quickly follows up with a playful demeanor, but his gaze reveals an inexplicable sense of longing. Later in the video, when Ma Joo-ah mentions going on a date with someone else, Cha Min-ho's response of "Whether she goes on a date or not is her own business. Who cares?" hints that his feelings have already transcended mere friendship.
Additionally, the delightful chemistry between Hwang Bo-young (Woo Da-bi), who showcases her unique philosophy on love, and Gil Mok-jin (Lee Jin-hyuk), who aims to demonstrate flirting skills using psychological tests as a psychology student, ramps up anticipation.
As the video culminates with scenes unfolding like a pictorial, the silhouette of six young individuals standing against a warm sunny background accompanied by the phrase "A story of true youth that risks everything for a thrilling heart" significantly elevates expectations for the premiere.
The direction of the campus romance, filled with love, friendship, and dilemmas among youths, is depicted in KBS Joy's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Dear M,' which will premiere on April 14 at 9:50 p.m.
