Actress Kim Goeun donated 50 million won last month for wildfire recovery efforts and has now made another charitable act for residents affected by the earthquake in Myanmar.

The global child rights NGO Good Neighbors announced on the 2nd that actress Kim Goeun donated 50 million won to help the residents and children of Myanmar affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake.

The donated funds will be used for ongoing emergency relief efforts in Myanmar. Good Neighbors will distribute emergency relief kits consisting of food and daily necessities in central and northern Myanmar, as well as Bangkok, Thailand, and will conduct psychosocial support (PSS) programs for children.

Actress Kim Goeun donated 100 million won in 2020 to support low-income households in Korea struggling due to COVID-19 and was registered in the Good Neighbors high-donor club 'The Neighbors Honors Club.' The Neighbors Honors Club is a group of sharing leaders who have donated over 100 million won to Good Neighbors for positive changes in the world. In 2023, she continued her charitable activities by donating 30 million won for emergency relief efforts following the Turkey-Syria earthquake.

Actress Kim Goeun said, "I felt heartbroken upon hearing the news of the residents of Myanmar who lost their homes in an instant," adding, "I send my heartfelt support to the residents of the affected area who are in sorrow."

Kim Joong-gon, secretary general of Good Neighbors, expressed deep gratitude to actress Kim Goeun for conveying warm regards to the residents and children affected by the earthquake, and noted, "I ask for the interest of many so that the much-needed assistance can be delivered to those whose daily lives have been shattered by the earthquake."
