Actor Lee Byung-hun revealed the dramatic growth of child actor Kim Kang-hoon, who starred with him in the movie 'The Match.'
On the afternoon of the 1st, Lee appeared as a guest on SBS Radio's 'Escape from 2 o'clock Cultwo Show (abbreviated as Cultwo Show)' broadcast live. Lee talked about his recent activities and the film to promote 'The Match.'
'The Match' depicts the dramatic story of legendary Go player Cho Hun-hyun and his disciple, the other legendary Go player Lee Chang-ho. In this, Lee Byung-hun plays the role of Cho Hun-hyun and delivers a passionate performance.
The roles of his rival Lee Chang-ho are shared by Kim Kang-hoon and Yoo Ah-in. Kim Kang-hoon, who was beloved as the son of Dong-baek in the drama 'When the Camellia Blooms,' plays the young Lee Chang-ho, while Yoo Ah-in portrays the young adult Lee Chang-ho facing off against Cho Hun-hyun.
Notably, Kim Kang-hoon also played the child version of Yoo Jin, portrayed by Lee Byung-hun, in the past drama 'Mr. Sunshine.' He boasted a special connection with Lee Byung-hun. In response, Lee said, "Kim Kang-hoon has really grown a lot," expressing his surprise.
He remarked, "I was surprised to see how much he had grown even during the filming of 'The Match.' It took quite a while for our movie to be released. But when I saw him at the premiere, I was surprised to find he had grown even taller than me. I would say he is over 180 cm tall."
Lee Byung-hun noted, "When we were doing a promotional event for 'The Match,' Kim Kang-hoon came to the venue but said he wouldn't join us. I felt it was disappointing that although we starred in the movie together, he wouldn't participate. But later, I thought that when I saw his height, if we greeted each other, it might seem like our movie was filmed about 20 years ago, so I felt relieved."
