The movie 'Virus,' which depicts a unique theme where one falls in love the moment they are infected by the 'Toxso virus' (provided/distributed by Baipoems Studio Co., produced by The Lamp Co., directed by Kang Yi-gwan), is set to be released on May 7.
The film 'Virus,' featuring an ensemble of actors with diverse personalities and deadly charm, including Bae Doo-na, who presents an irreplaceable presence in each work, the acting master Kim Yoon-seok, all-round artist Jang Ki-ha, and special appearance by the rising star Son Suk-ku, has confirmed its release date for May 7 (Wednesday) and unveiled its first poster and first teaser.
'Virus' tells the story of 'Taek-seon,' infected by a 100% fatal virus that causes love without reason, embarking on an unexpected journey with three men: 'Su-pil,' a single researcher, 'Yeon-u,' an old classmate, and 'Lee-gyeon,' the only expert capable of developing a treatment.
The first poster features the four characters with the 'Toxso virus' warning tag, capturing attention. First, the poster of the infected person 'Ok Taek-seon' (Bae Doo-na), dressed in pink protective gear, shows a thrilled face beyond heart-shaped steam, and the unique infection symptom phrases 'increased heart rate, enhanced confidence, and dopamine explosion' grab focus.
Additionally, there are 'Nam Su-pil' (Son Suk-ku), who met 'Taek-seon' through a blind date, 'Kim Yeon-u' (Jang Ki-ha), a car dealer who is 'Taek-seon's' elementary school classmate, and 'Lee-gyeon' (Kim Yoon-seok), the only expert who can develop a treatment for the 'Toxso virus.' This not only stimulates curiosity about the entangled relationships between 'Taek-seon' and these individuals due to the 'Toxso virus,' but also allows glimpses into the eyes of the infected 'Taek-seon,' who has fallen in love with the world through hidden hearts in various places such as the picture frames, mirrors, car headlights, and lab monitors.
The first teaser, released alongside it, shows the translator 'Taek-seon,' who has lost all romantic feelings, humor, and motivation and is in a gloomy mode, suddenly feeling thrilled and happy for no reason overnight. Next, his elementary school classmate 'Yeon-u' immediately recognizes 'Taek-seon's' unfamiliar demeanor, followed by the researcher 'Lee-gyeon,' who searches for 'Taek-seon,' and the blind date 'Su-pil,' who is determined to pursue 'Taek-seon.' Eventually, upon meeting 'Taek-seon,' 'Lee-gyeon' reveals that all these changes are due to the symptoms of the 'Toxso virus' that makes one fall in love the moment they are infected.
As the conversation continues between 'Taek-seon,' who possesses 'super antibodies,' and 'Lee-gyeon,' the only expert capable of developing a treatment for the 'Toxso virus,' it sparks curiosity about the unexpected journey they will embark on together.
