Actor Kim Min-ha spoke about her thoughts on performing in a school uniform.
On the morning of the 1st, a production presentation for the TVING original series "Way Back Love" was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Kim Hye-young and actors Gong Myoung, Kim Min-ha, Jung Geon-joo, and Oh Woo-ri attended and shared their thoughts.
Based on the novel of the same name by writer Seo Eun-chae, "Way Back Love" is a youth fantasy romance in which Hee-wan (played by Kim Min-ha), who had been flowing past her youth with her back turned to the world, encounters her first love, Ram-woo (played by Gong Myoung), who appears as a grim reaper.
Kim Min-ha portrayed Hee-wan, who begins her first love through an April Fools' prank of "changing her name." When asked about his reasons for choosing the work, he explained, "It was a story I wanted to tell for a long time. I had personally been thinking a lot about the meaning of longing, the meaning of the ones left behind, and the process of living with guilt. When I met this script, I was so pleased and felt that I really wanted to carefully develop it in any way I could."
He continued, "Everyone around me said that I should wear the school uniform until I can wear it again. So, at first, I hesitated a lot because of that, but when I actually wore it and returned to being a high school student, I felt younger throughout the filming period. I received a lot of good energy, and it was a script that allowed me to reflect on various things."
In response, Jung Geon-joo, who plays Hong-seok, Ram-woo's best friend, said, "I also wanted to wear the school uniform before it was too late. I participated in this work through auditions, and when I first saw the script, I was greatly attracted by its lyrical charm, and I participated with the mindset that I wanted to do well in this audition."
Meanwhile, "Way Back Love" will premiere on the 3rd via TVING.
