Director Lee Il-hyung of "Karma" presented a different charm compared to "When Life Gives You Tangerines."
On the morning of the 31st, a production presentation for the Netflix original series "Karma" took place at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Jongno, Seoul. The presentation was attended by Director Lee Il-hyung and actors Park Hae-soo, Shin Min-a, Lee Hee-joon, Kim Sung-kyun, Lee Kwang-soo, and Kong Seung-yeon.
"Karma" is a crime thriller that depicts the intertwined stories of six individuals who cannot escape a fateful connection even if they want to.
Earlier, Netflix noted that "When Life Gives You Tangerines," starring Park Bo-gum and IU, ranked first among non-English titles and continues to perform well. When asked if there was pressure due to the release of "Karma" as a follow-up, Director Lee Il-hyung said, "I also watched 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' diligently. I cried from the first episode."
He stated, "In fact, if I say there's no pressure, it would be a lie. We will be meeting viewers one after another over four weeks. However, we believe there is a unique genre fun to our story. I think people might enjoy the spicy flavor after watching such warm, humane tales."
Regarding expected ratings, he expressed, "It's not so much about expected ratings but rather the hope that as many people as possible will watch and enjoy it."
Meanwhile, "Karma" will premiere on Netflix on April 4.
