After again debuting as a KBS public recruitment 4th term talent, Nam Il-woo appeared in films such as "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance," "The Mayor," "Assistant," "When a Man Falls in Love," "The Priests," "Inside Men," "Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds," "Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days," and dramas such as "Dae Myung," "Soon Ae," "Bong Sun Hwa," "Icha-don," "Am-so," "School of Love," "Who Are You?" "Flower of the King," "Dangerous Love," "Era of the Wild," "War of Money," "Queen of Games," "Lady Ahn Hyeon-dong," "Pink Lipstick," "Empire of Gold," "When Tomorrow Comes," and "Get Out of My Way, Destiny."
In particular, Nam Il-woo received much love as a couple with actress Kim Yong-rim after marrying in 1965. In 1973, they appeared together in the KBS epic drama "King Sejong the Great" and in the 2004 MBC drama "Flower of the King," attracting attention.
Nam Il-woo's son, Nam Seong-jin, is also active as an actor, having married actress Kim Ji-young. They received much love as a family of succeeding actors.
Nam Il-woo, who continued acting without forgetting his age, suffered a hip injury after falling while moving to the filming location. Although he successfully recovered after surgery, he unexpectedly passed away due to old age, which caused great sorrow.
After the father passed away, his son Nam Seong-jin displayed sadness in a variety show, saying, "My father's last weight was 38 kg. He said he really wanted bread one last time. So even now, I buy bread and coffee every time I go to see my father."
