Comedian Shim Jin-hwa expressed her heavy heart regarding the wildfire damage in her hometown, Cheongsong.
On the 31st, Shim Jin-hwa posted on her social media account, "So many people have worried, prayed, and almost everyone who knows me has reached out. Although Cheongsong is a very small place, I sincerely hope that recovery will be swift amidst the attention from many people, so I am posting again."
Shim Jin-hwa, who is from Cheongsong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is a prominent entertainer with a deep connection to Cheongsong, even having the Cheongsong Shim clan as her ancestry. Given that her mother is also known to still reside in Cheongsong, concerns poured in from those around her when news of the wildfire damage surfaced.
In this context, on the 25th, Shim Jin-hwa confirmed a donation of 10 million won to the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea, saying, "I sincerely pray that the wildfire does not spread further and is extinguished."
Meanwhile, after the news of the firefighting efforts was reported, she donated an additional 10 million won, conveying her wishes for a speedy recovery from the damage. Shim Jin-hwa lamented, "The Cheongsong I visited over the weekend truly broke my heart, and the journey back to Seoul to resume my daily life weighed heavily on my heart."
Meanwhile, Shim Jin-hwa married comedian Kim Won-hyo, who is one year younger, in 2011.
