Broadcaster Kim Kyung-hwa, a former announcer, apologized for raising concerns about alternative meals.
On the 29th, Kim Kyung-hwa posted a message on his personal social media, saying, "I am sorry. I bow my head and apologize. My thoughts were short. I could not see other situations properly because I was wrapped up in my position. That's my shortcoming."
He noted, "I feel sorry for my actions which were not careful," adding, "I need to mature more, but I am very lacking." He further said, "I express my apologies to those who may have been hurt or harmed by my writing and to the school that is working hard in various ways to resolve this."
On the 28th, Kim Kyung-hwa raised an issue related to his second child; at the high school they attend, students were given non-cooked alternative meals such as bread and milk during lunch. He especially complained that, while teachers had warm meals delivered, students were not allowed to order individually despite some teachers raising concerns.
Kim Kyung-hwa's second child is reported to be attending a high school near Myungil-dong, Gangdong District in Seoul. However, on the 24th, a sinkhole with a diameter of 20 meters occurred on Dongnam-ro in Myungil-dong, causing the death of a male motorcycle driver in his 30s and injuring another driver of a Carnival, who was transported to the hospital. As a result, criticism arose against Kim Kyung-hwa, with public opinion stating, "There are people who died in the sinkhole, yet there's chaos over temporary meals."
Kim Kyung-hwa, who debuted as an MBC public announcer in 2000, has transitioned to a freelancer after leaving the company, working as a broadcaster and actor.

I am sorry. I bow my head and apologize.
My thoughts were short.
I could not see other situations properly because I was wrapped up in my position.
That's my shortcoming.
I feel sorry for my actions which were not careful.
I need to mature more, but I am very lacking.
I express my apologies to those
who may have been hurt or harmed by my writing
and to the school that is working hard in various ways to resolve this.
Once again, I bow my head and apologize.
