Actress Park Shin-hye has donated 50 million won for victims of the forest fire, continuing her philanthropic efforts through donations for the 10th year.
The Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) stated on the 29th that Park Shin-hye donated 50 million won to help the victims in the forest fire-affected areas including Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan.
The donation will be used for emergency relief, provision of daily necessities, and operation of temporary shelters to support recovery and daily life for residents in the forest fire-affected areas including Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam.
Park Shin-hye, known as an 'angel of goodwill' representing the entertainment industry, has participated in donations for disaster recovery during the Daegu Seomun Market fire in 2016, the Goseong and Sokcho forest fires in 2019, the heavy rainfall in 2020, and the Uljin and Samcheok forest fires in 2022.
Currently, Park Shin-hye is a member of the Honours Club, a group of high-value donors under Hope Bridge. She is contributing to the spread of the donation culture through her continuous philanthropic efforts.
Park Shin-hye noted, 'I deeply empathize with the pain of those who have lost their homes due to the forest fire, and I hope my donation can be of some help,' adding, 'I wish for a swift return to peaceful daily life.'
Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, said, 'Park Shin-hye has consistently practiced sharing during various disasters for nearly 10 years, and as a member of the Honours Club, she is a source of inspiration for many. This donation will also be a great support for the affected residents.'
Hope Bridge is currently providing more than 450,000 relief items including relief kits, shelter partitions, blankets, daily necessities, bottled water, and food items to the forest fire-affected areas. Various on-site relief activities, including laundry support at the shelters, are also continuing. Additionally, meal support for firefighters and emergency response teams on site is ongoing.
The Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association is a disaster relief fundraising organization established in 1961 by media outlets and social organizations across the country. Its major activities include disaster emergency relief, fundraising and distribution of public donations, community recovery after disasters, and support for vulnerable groups affected by disasters. To date, it has provided 1.6 trillion won in donations and more than 60 million relief supplies.
