MAMAMOO's Hwasa donated 100 million won for wildfire recovery.
The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) announced on the 29th that singer Hwasa (Ahn Hye-jin) donated 100 million won to share in the pain of countless disaster victims caused by wildfires that have swept across the nation.
This donation will be used for emergency aid, provision of necessities, and operation of temporary shelters to support recovery and daily life for residents in wildfire-affected areas such as Ulsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Gyeongsangnam-do.
Hwasa expressed, "I hope this donation can be of some help to the disaster victims who have lost their homes due to the wildfires, and I sincerely wish everyone can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
Through this donation, Hwasa was appointed as a member of the 'Hope Bridge Honors Club,' a group of individual high-value donors, and committed to increasing attention toward supporting disaster-affected neighbors and vulnerable communities in the future, as well as spreading a culture of sharing.
Hope Bridge Secretary-General Shin Hoon noted, "We sincerely appreciate Ms. Hwasa's deep empathy and warm generosity," and added, "Hope Bridge will do its utmost to ensure that this sincerity is conveyed to the affected residents."
Meanwhile, Hope Bridge is currently providing over 450,000 relief items, such as relief kits, shelter partitions, blankets, necessities, bottled water, and food in wildfire-affected areas, and is continuing various on-site relief activities, including laundry support at shelters. Additionally, meal support for firefighters and on-site emergency response personnel is also underway.
Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association is a disaster relief fundraising organization established in 1961 by media outlets and social organizations across the country. Its main activities include emergency relief for disasters, fundraising and distribution of public donations, community recovery after disasters, and support for vulnerable groups. To date, it has provided 1.6 trillion won in donations and over 60 million relief items.
